Contouring the easy way with the Universal Contouring Palette from IT Cosmetics

I contour every time I wear make up. Every. Single. Time. Exhausting? Nope! Time Consuming? Nope! Flattering? Yep! It is the easiest, quickest and most flattering make up trick to do once you know how. IT Cosmetics are launching a brand new Universal Contour Collection Palette for face and body, that could not make this step easier.

I think for a long time now more mature women have been so scared of contouring.  It seems like such a lengthy process that includes drawing all over your face like a clown and spending hours and hours buffing and blending. Whilst i'm not going to lie and say no blending is required (it absolutely is) you do not need to make the angles of your contour sharp enough to slice bread with. Just a few little tricks to slim the face, nose and jowls if need be and you are good to go.

Included in this very pretty and very flattering Universal Contouring Palette from IT Cosmetics are 6 universal shades. Four contours shades and two highlight shades (one matte and one radiance). The general rule of thumb with your contour shade is two shades darker than your skin tone. You use the contour shades in the areas you would like to disguise a little and the highlight in the areas you would like to show off more. Lots of people love to add highlight to the tip of their nose, but for me, that is my biggest facial feature, so I hate doing that. Its all about finding the balance and what works on your face.

The Universal Contouring Palette from IT cosmetics has very easy to follow instructions included as well as stuck to the back of the box so you really cannot go wrong. Just remember to blend as you go and leave NO HARSH LINES behind. Your contour needs to look like its part of your face and not make up that has been plonked there!

I love to use the Deep Contour Shade, I suck in my cheeks, creating a fish face (really pretty) and heading back towards my ear, apply my contour shade with the perfectly shaped Heavenly Luxe You Sculpted Contour & Highlight Brush. I then blend it out back and forward, a little up and down and create a shadow. I then apply it around my hairline, as I have a huge forehead that I like to disguise and also along my jawline and down my neck, again creating that illusion of shadow. Then blend, blend, blend. Once mastered, this can be done in minutes as you really do no need to do anything too strong and harsh. I then go in with a clean brush and apply my Highlight shade to my cheekbones and brow bones. This palette is also great used as eye shadows and as transition colours. These colours are highly pigmented so only gently tap your brush into them and build up the colour so as not to look muddy.

"Developed with plastic surgeons, the leading experts in contouring and aesthetics, each powder shade is formulated with proprietary Perfect Lighting™ Technology to mimic real facial contouring and provide a fool-proof alternative to fillers. While the four contour shades absorb light and minimize the areas to which you apply them, the two highlight shades enhance features you want to pull forward, creating the appearance of more volume. Talc-free, and perfect for all skin types and skin tones, these shades are infused with anti-aging collagen, silk and peptides to blend effortlessly and deliver smooth, natural-looking coverage that lasts all day."

This palette really is beautiful and great to use for everyone from make up beginners to expert artists. The pay off is incredible and literally lasts all day. The shades are full of important skincare ingredient's such as Collagen, Silk and Peptides which actually benefits your skin as you wear it and the palette is perfectly portable too. I have never had an IT Cosmetics product I have never liked (my favourite one is HERE) and I restock many, many times, so I would happily recommend this product to anyone.

  1. I am going to have a go at contouring - from your description it doesn't sound as scary as I thought. After all if I get it wrong can always try again.

  11. I had no idea IT Cosmetics had a contour palette out! I've not tried many of their products as my shade of their CC cream always seems to be out of stock, but I love their brushes.
