Many of you are aware that i am a skincare addict and more importantly i adore “Clean” skincare brands. The reason being, i am obsessed with constantly trying to improve my skin and look after it as well as i possibly can. Ren is a skincare brand i came across, many, many years ago and fell in love with due to its brand ethos and clean principles. A relatively young brand (within skincare circles) having been created in 2000 in East London, it uses only sustainably sourced ingredients from around the world and never, ever tests on animals.
Ren can be easily found in department and high street stores across the UK and are now launching into QVCUK. With this launch comes great pricing and collections that have been put together to create your perfect skincare routine. Below i am sharing some of these collections with you.
I think by now, we all know the importance of a Glycolic toner. They effectively and easily resurface the skin by exfoliation which leads to a brighter more hydrated looking complexion. Launched earlier this year and gentle enough to use every day, this gorgeous Glycolic is a joy to use and great for anyone struggling with open pores, dullness to their skin, texture on their skin and just a lack lustre skin type. Enriched with Lactic Acid and Willow Bark, this product stimulates the skins natural exfoliation process and renewal. Housed in a hygienic pump dispenser, you pump it out onto a cotton pad – enough product to saturate it – and sweep over the face and neck both morning and evening.
The scent is incredible, really citrusy and refreshing. Avoid the eye area but make sure you also take it down the neck and décolleté. You shouldn’t feel any irritation and only slight stinging with this product but if you have sensitive skin, you can use only of an evening or dampen the cotton pad with water first. Always, always make sure you use an SPF product after using this, as your skin will be super sun sensitive. This product also comes with a Try-Me 15ml size of the Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask which is packed full of fruit extracts that nibble away at the dead skin cells and can help reduce skin congestion when used once per week. A great Glycolic product for first timer acid users, but also one i love and i incorporate Acids into my skincare routine religiously. Available from QVCUK HERE
REN’s Evercalm range is a collection of products that are aimed at a more sensitive skin type, a skin that needs those hardworking products to give exceptional results but be very gentle. This best selling range does just that. Using clean bio-actives to train sensitive skin, the Evercalm range is perfect on skin suffering from redness, stress or irritation.
This cleansing milk is wonderful for anyone seeing those signs of premature ageing, but cannot use the more “Hardcore” products on their skin. Infused with wonderful enzymes and extracts such as Fennel Seed, which is high in antioxidants and reduces damage from pollution, Blackcurrant Seed Oil which is rich in Omega 3 and soothes irritated or hot skin and Seabuckthorn Berry Oil which contains Omega 7 to soften dry skin, this is a beautiful cleanser. As someone that loves a balm or oil cleanser, a milk is not something i would normally use, but something about the sleek packaging and silky texture, win you over in an instant.
One pump produces a silky, almost moisturiser feeling cleanser, which is far removed from those runny, almost watery milk cleansers of old, you rub it between your hands and then massage into the face and neck. Then rinse off with warm water! It removes everything, literally every trace of sun-cream, foundation, dirt and pollution are gone, with no excessively harsh rubbing of the skin. It has converted me so much so that i have been using this everyday in the mornings and as my first cleanse of an evening. My skin feels soft and supple after use and i have really been enjoying it on my mature skin. One to look out for. Available from QVCUK HERE
A wonderfully cooling mask, this literally makes sore, hot, sensitive skin sigh with relief when you apply it. For me, i adore this after being in the sun, or when my skin is really playing up at certain times of the month. Using an innovative bio-actives complex, this mask aims to strengthens the skins barrier as it moisturisers, de-stresses and comforts the skin. This is a great mask for anyone that has redness in their skin, maybe sun damage too and really needs their skin to repair.
For me, my dehydrated, mature skin adores the hydration and glow this gives and feels literally like a drink of water for the skin. I apply quite a thick layer over my skin for about 15 minutes and rinse away with a cloth and cold water. It doesn’t set hard, and feels so comfortable i usually forget i am wearing it haha. A wonderfully cooling mask that i think anyone would adore especially on hot days, to hydrate their skin but obviously anyone with sensitive skin that wants to readdress the balance. Global Protection Day Cream 50ml –
If you have a sensitised skin that needs calming down and cooling, this is a lovely day cream to try. Its light and airy texture makes this easy and gentle to massage into the skin without causing further redness or skin damage.
Dispensed via the pump, the product is always hygienically clean and one pump really does goes a long way. Immensely cooling on the skin, which again i love, it really hydrates and calms the skin whilst working against premature ageing and sensitivity. Available from QVCUK HERE
My thoughts on this brand – I adore REN and have used if for many years, i particularly love their Morrocan Rose Range so do check that out too. Their clean and simple packaging looks lovely in the bathroom, their naturally scented products are incredibly uplifting and their products work so well on so many different skin types, that it really is a range to try out. The Evercalm products above are perfect for more sensitive skins that struggle to find “Their” range and work so well on mature skins too. Available on QVCUK now.
