Press trip and Gifted items
I often get asked what exactly happens when I go to events to do with my job as a Beauty Blogger, so Join me at the Stylist Restival with La Roche Posay! If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen my overnight stay and watched all the fun i got up to and workshops that I attended, last weekend, learning how to rest well.
Those of you that know me personally will have heard me say countless times “I would love to live in the middle of Piccadilly Circus” I love London that much, well for one night only I did!
The incredible team at La Roche Posay invited me to the brand new and as yet unopened Zedwell Hotel in the former home of the Trocerdero. To celebrate La Roche Posays incredible new launch Retinol B3 Serum ( Available HERE) they partnered with Stylist Magazine and invited a few of us to the “Stylist Restival”
Ahead of Stylist Magazines Upcoming sleep issue ( available 5th February ) we were treated to a range of workshops hosted by psychologists and sleep experts, taught relaxation techniques and treated to a delicious array of food from Detox Kitchen.
Upon Arrival at the Zedwell hotel at 1pm on Sunday, we were each shown to our own “Pod like” room. The Zedwell Hotel is a haven for relaxation and sleep with the emphasis being put on no distractions. My room had a double futon style bed and a beautiful bathroom with La Roche Posay Products.
There was mood lighting, no windows and no television as this was a complete oasis of calm that quite easily made you feel you were in the middle of nowhere and most certainly not the centre of London. This windowless hotel took some getting used to, but if peace and tranquillity is what you want after a busy day at the office, a night with friends or family, then this is it. With Natural Oak Wood and Egyptian Cotton sheets, this really is an experience in which you can hear a pin drop. Although unfinished and with no heating or kitchen hahaha, the areas that were reserved for us where perfectly fine, though I have come back with a stonking cold as it was freezing.
We immediately changed into our gorgeously soft and comfy pajamas (HERE), dressing gown and slippers which had all been kindly gifted by Marks and Spencer and made our way downstairs.
With a jam packed schedule of events, we were treated to many different types of talks from experts and also able to take part in various yoga classes. We learned all about 5 steps to better sleep and did some gentle yoga exercise with with Psychotherapist and senior yoga teacher Lisa Sanfilippo who has written the book Yoga Therapy for Insomnia and Sleep Recovery which was wonderful, learned about whether Nomophobia (the phobia of being away from our phones) is affecting our sleep habits, with the wonderfully informative Hope Bastine ( i will share more on this in a future post ) and did Yoga Nidra with Felicia Ovin, this wonderful lady just relaxed us all immediately and the floods gates for me opened, with tears rolling down my face, as I was taken to a calm place and thoughts of my dad flooded in.
We learnt about creating a wonderfully calming sleep space and what to wear to make us relax when we get home and when we are in bed, with Marks and Spencers head of design Karen Thomas and senior deisgner of loungewear Sian Ross, learned how to eat our way to a healtheir life and thus aiding a better nights sleep with clinical Nutrionist Keris Marsden, had a fabulously hilarious talk about the myths sabotaging our sleep from sleep expert Dr Nerina Ramklakhan and conquered the “Sunday Scaries” with Leading Sophrologist Dominique Antiglio.
Caffine free, gluten free and dairy free food was supplied by The Detox Kitchen, Sleep Beats were played by DJ Kystal Roxx and we even had a bed time story as Libby Page, Sunday Times bestselling author, read us the first chapter of her new book The 24 Hour Cafe HERE.
So as you can see it was a jam packed day. By about 11pm we were all in our sleep pods, uploading everything we had seen, learnt and shared across our social media platfroms before lights out and a wonderful sleep in our Marks and Spencer bedding.
The following morning my alarm went off at 5.30am, followed by a swift shower , packing of my suitcase and a 7am breakfast.
We checked out by 9am armed with lots of goodies and knowledge all about the importance of sleep and wellbeing which i will be sharing across various posts in the future.
Phew! It was a jam packed overnight stay that i thoroughly enjoyed and was super greatful to have been invited too.
Marks and Spencer kindly gifted us all our bedding, duvets and pillows, 2 pairs of pajamas, slippers and dressing gown, plus beauty products and a candle.
Stylist magazine kindly gifted us notebooks, the Calm sleep book, silk eye mask and tangle teezer and
La Roche Posay Kindly gifted us their new launch Retinol B3 serum and Anthelios SPF
The Stylist Restival with La Roche Posay was a wonderful event that taught me so much about how to create a calm healthy sleep environment.
