You know I don’t need much persuading when it comes to a new eyeshadow palette, so when I heard Urban Decay were launching the Ultra Violet Palette i was all over it.

Urban Decay Naked Ultra Violet Palette

I do love a bit of Urban Decay and have done for years, especially their more colourful palettes such as Naked Heat and Naked Cherry. With Purples being some of my favourite colours to wear on my eyes I knew I would fall in love with experimenting with the Urban Decay Naked UltraViolet Palette.

The packaging is beautifully chunky, but still portable, light and fits into your make up drawer. Once you open it you will notice the really lovely clear mirror and the soft and fluffy double ended make up brush. I do actually enjoy the Urban Decay Palette brushes that are included, this one is nice, but doesn’t have a packing end so I prefer the brush included with Naked Heat. The configuration of 12 vivid shades from Peach tones through to those vibrant Purples that we are here for is nice and although I was in fact expecting more Vibrant Purples and Violets, this is part of the Naked range and therefore has a very neutral theme. The range of colours work well and do break down into a combined day and night palette – in my opinion.

Featuring Shimmers, Mattes, Metallics, Satin and a pearl transformer shade, you can create a rainbow of purple looks with ease. I first tried this palette live on my insta-stories and I can honestly say there is no fall out onto the face with these shadows and minimal kick back in the pan. Its also worth noting that I did have to play with a selection of brushes to build up the colour on some shades. Colours Dazed, V.R, Lucid, Warning, Cyber Punk, Euphoric and Purple Dust work much better when applied with the finger. Never the less I have been able to create some really pretty looks.

Do I need this palette?

wearing UltraViolet Palette

Hmmmmm… this is a tough question. If you are a make up addict, like me and have lots of eyeshadow palettes, chances are you will have most of these colours. There is not really a ground-breaking shade for me in this palette. But! If, like me, you like your favourite colour to be on hand in one place then the Urban Decay Ultraviolet palette is most definitely for you. If you are new to make up or are looking  to experiment, but want the ease of neutrals and soft tones of peach, deffo give this a go. At £43 it is a investment palette, but to be fair, most eyeshadow palettes now are creeping up to and if not going over this price point. Urban Decay is a world famous brand and this palette, in my opinion, is the same great formula as previous palettes and I am very happy to have added this to my collection.
