It only takes a minute – My get out of the house quick GoTo Jane Iredale look

As a busy mum, the past 7 weeks have been incredibly fun filled times. It has been the school summer holidays and I have been able to have my children close everyday which I love. However, being up and out early on different adventures has meant that I wanted my make up look to be fast, but still look good.

Jane Iredale

Some of the products I have reached for more and more this summer have been the relatively new launches from Jane Iredale. If you have read some of my previous posts including this one HERE, you will know that I am a huge fan of the Jane Iredale range. Her liquid foundation and hydration spray are repeat purchases of mine and always leave my skin looking flawless and feeling hydrated and comfortable.

I was complimented so much over the summer about my skin and a lot of it is down to a great skincare routine, but also down to that no make up make up look, that takes seconds, hides a multitude of skin sins and just makes me look so healthy, radiant, refreshed and glowing. So before I head kicking and screaming into Autumn I am still applying this look on the school run and hanging onto this glorious September sun.

Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener 50ml

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener

I use a primer, everyday, even on the school run- it takes seconds, evens out my skin tone, adds a luminosity (depending on the Primer) and makes my make up last longer and feel better on my skin. This primer from Jane Iredale is so beautiful. Whilst it may be a considered purchase for some at £36.00 I think it really does deliver. Containing a beautiful selection of ingredient’s such as Grapefruit Extracts, Apple Extracts, Green and White Tea Leaf Extracts, Royal Jelly, Aloe leaf Juice, and many more, this really is like an amazing skincare product rather than a primer. It cools the skin, minimises the look of fine lines and pores, brings a brightness to the skin, a luminosity and feels beautiful, plus the scent is so light and uplifting it really is a pleasure to use. After applying my skincare, I apply a thin layer of Smooth Affair all over my face and apply my make up once it has dried, which takes seconds. If you have a particularly oily skin I think you would prefer Absence Oil Control Primer  which is more specific to your skin.

Powder-Me SPF 30

Jane Iredale Powder-Me SPF 30

I always apply an SPF, always, always, it is the most important thing we can do for our skin. I apply mine everyday as a cream and let it sink in but it is also comforting knowing that make up contains an SPF too. This Powder Me SPF 30 product is incredibly easy to use and beautiful to look at.

Jane Iredale Powder-Me SPF 30

The container, as with all Jane Iredale Products is so pretty. A beautiful gold tone container with a very handy mirror on the lid, and a brilliant, large sponge attached to the pot when you remove the lid. To use this product, unscrew the pot and remove the plastic insert, screw the pad back on and gently prime it on your hand by using circular motions. The mineral powder will dispense. Whilst not being a make up per say, as it is an SPF product, it is so fast, so easy to use and does give a flawless lightweight hint of colour coverage to the skin.

Jane Iredale Powder-Me SPF 30 Ready to use

I adore the shade Tanned (although they are very light in colour) in the summer and will drop down to Golden in late September when we are still chasing those remaining rays. This is a must have if you travel regularly as it is so handy for touch ups and creating a flawless look on the skin, evening out your skin tone, giving a beautiful wash of colour and SPF protection. A handbag must have. This product is also recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective broad Spectrum Sunscreen.

SunBeam Bronzer Refill

Jane Iredale refillable Compact with Sunbeam Bronzer Refill

Although quads of colour bronzers are not new, what I love about this one from Jane Iredale is that , not only can you purchase a very beautiful refillable compact for it, but for a Mineral Powder it is incredibly pigmented. Launched on 1st July, I have been using this beautiful shimmer, bronzer all through the summer and love it. If shimmers are not for you and you have concerns with pores then I would suggest a more matte based bronzer. It is incredibly easy to pick out colours for eyes, cheeks and highlight and also use as an  all over sweep of colour. Some Mineral Powders can at times be quite wishy washy but I find this range of  Brown, Blush and Brick shades mix lovely when swirled together with a big, fluffy, bronzer brush and dusted lightly over the face. As you will see from the photo below, the highlighter is beautiful, a lovely bright shade which looks great on the high cheekbones and under the brow. Non drying on the skin and brightens the complexion effortlessly. Available in other colours too. The compact is sold separately at £12.

Jane Iredale Before & After

Before & After – As you can see in my B&A above I am purposely not wearing any foundation or concealer just to show that I am happy to get out of the house with these products just as they are (Plus mascara and Jane Iredale Lip Gloss in Spice). Although there is no full coverage used, my skin tone looks more even, bright and lifted and I have picked out the shades from the Sunbeam palette and used them as eye shadow as well as on my face.

A very easy, fast and beautiful selection of core products that I have used this summer and will happily continue to do so for the rest of the year.

Great review Sharon, Jane Iredale, was the first ever mineral make up I tried, one of the first on the market maybe 15 years ago. I was amazed back then at how well mineral make up worked. Would love to try again to see if that love for the products is still there after so many years! Have entered!

Hi Sharon, what a fabulous range of products and gorgeous results too! I have a Jane Iredale blusher which is lovely, and I adore the gold packaging. The Primer looks amazing and very luxurious, as you say, quite costly, but perhaps a worthwhile purchase! The Powder Me is really innovate and I love the sun protection aspect. I've always protected my skin but now in my late 30s I'm definitely becoming more vigilant, looking for "anti ageing" ranges and love cosmetics that contain SPF. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I use the Jane Iredale Mascara, lip pencil and Face set spray mist which I get from the spa I go to monthly. I love the mascara. The gold coloured packaging is a squeezy type tube so it is really economical and lasts forever. Jane Iredale lip pencil is the best I have come accross. It sharpens well yet as a lovely soft drawing edge on it, which isn't sharp or pointy. I love to finish off my make up with her setting spray too. It is so light and refreshing
