Skinn is an American brand skincare line that has had huge success across the pond. Back in August they launched a brand new range, Deep Wrinkle Protocol, in the UK.
|Skinn Collagenesis by Dimitri James|
Exclusive to Ideal World, in the UK, the range is designed to prevent and correct signs of ageing. They also suggest that it can improve the appearance of slackened and sagging skin, something which I am becoming more aware of on my own face. But, who are they? Dimitri James, creator of Skinn, had been in the cosmetic industry for over 20 years before creating this line. It was his frustration at how much time and money was spent on packaging by many of the large beauty brands, and how little on the actual product, that geared him into doing something about it. Skinn aim to bring the most beautiful and active skincare possible by using time honoured traditions and without the need for nasty fillers. By placing the product in simple packaging and focusing on ingredient’s they have achieved their goal.
A huge success in America and Canada and now branching out to more and more countries, I was intrigued to try this brand. I was sent 3 products from the range to trial and give my opinion.
Skinn Collagenesis Deep Wrinkle Protocol Crème Reverse – Phew that’s a mouthful! This product aims to fight the signs of fatigue and address any ageing concerns such as wrinkles and sagging. Containing a combination of 21 actives, including five powerful peptides and potent antioxidants this really is a powerful product. It feels soft and silky on the skin thanks to the Persian Silk Tree extracts it contains and leaves a beautiful base for make up application. I used this twice a day, morning and evening taking it right down to my neck and décolleté. The fab application with the special air tight, push down pump on the jar gives a perfectly measured dose.

This applicator leaves the active product completely airtight and free from germs in the jar which is perfect. An incredibly lightweight, gel consistency, makes this easy to use and massage into the skin without causing any roll off. Whenever I use this product I feel a slight tingling sensation on my skin, its not unpleasant but im not sure if sensitive skins would be ok to use this. However, my skin always feels beautifully hydrated all day, and when I apply it at night, I wake up with plump, juicy, hydrated skin, so I cannot fault it for that.
Skinn Collagenesis Deep Wrinkle Eye Crème Reverse –

I Love that this eye cream is also in the fab airtight pump container rather that a tube, as it keeps the product very clean. A thicker eye cream than I am used to with a luxurious texture. It spreads easy under and around the eye area with no tugging or pulling, which Is great and I found that one pump was more than enough for both eyes. Containing active ingredient’s it aims to brighten, hydrate and increase elasticity of the under eye area. If you suffer from bagging, saggy, under eyes this is a worth a try. Whilst I do not have many lines around my eyes, I do have dry skin and again, as with the previous product this really did give full time hydration. It did take longer to tap in that other products I am used to but I do prefer a gel eye product. A light scent and an easy to use product that promise’s long term benefits.
Skinn Collagenesis Deep Wrinkle Protocol Deep Line Erasing Serum 15ml
|Deep Wrinkle Protocol Deep Line Erasing Serum|
Containing peptides, which are a key word in skincare, this lightweight, serum type lotion is an easy to use product. The tube has a very fine point on the end enabling you to really target those deep lines that you may have. I have lines around my mouth and also my “Harry Potter” lightning line between my eyes, I aim the product into the lines and gently tap in.
Immediately the line appears plumper and makes applying make up easy. Use after all skincare and before make up. Obviously the immediate plumping is a short term fix, but based on the before and after photos I have seen, over time lines may appear smaller.
My Overall thoughts – A lovely range of products for more mature skin, or skin that is seeing sagging, lines and wrinkles. The simple yet effective packaging is all that is needed as the skincare inside is more important. If you are on a budget and really want to try Active’s, Peptides and hard working, innovative ingredient’s then look into this brand. It feels lovely on the skin, and always leaves me feeling hydrated. The eye cream was a little too thick for me personally but it all depends on your preference. I think sensitive skins should patch test before application. Each item can be purchased individually or you can buy the set as a collection HERE
