Lets Talk : Why it’s important to Stop, Breathe and Tune Into You

May 10, 2017

Life is busy and it can be hard sometimes to put yourself
first for a change. I know that within my life, my children, husband and
family’s needs usually come before mine. Then my blog, household, socialising,
social media, my dog (in no particular order) and before i know it I am
exhausted, deflated and completely run down.

Stop Breathe Tune into You with Elemis Life Elixirs

Going through that phase right now, i realise that i have not been looking
after myself as much as i should. In order for me to be on top of my A game, i
need to be in tip top condition and get back to relaxing and taking time in my
day and my life to just focus on me. One of my absolute favourite things to do,
to relax, is have a lovely pampering session. Once a year i treat myself (or ask
for it as a birthday treat) to a facial and massage, and though this is
incredibly decadent and sometimes expensive, knowing that treat is firmly fixed
in my diary means i turn up, relax and enjoy every second.

The House of Elemis

Last week i was treated to the most incredible Couture
Facial
at The House
of Elemis
, 90 minutes of pure bliss as my therapist Kate, used hot stone
massage to pummel deep into my back muscles and release my inner stress,
followed by a blissful Pro Collagen facial. Using the Pro Collagen range of
products perfectly suited to my skins needs, the facial released the tension in
my face and jaw, relaxed my facial muscles, lines and wrinkles and just left me
looking and feeling as though all my cares had slipped away. My skin was
glowing, re-hydrated and life was good.

Relaxed and glowing after my treatment

On the train journey home i realised that i needed to look after myself more, which
to be fair is the whole ethos behind my blog. I have been unwell for a couple
of weeks and on antibiotics for numerous infections such as ear, eye and throat
and knew that i couldn’t keep going at the pace i was. I was unwell, run down,
tired, beginning to question myself and loosing my confidence. I had to get
‘Back to Me’.

Something i always used to enjoy was long, pampering, spa like bath sessions at
home, which just lately had been swapped for quick showers or was used as a
time to catch up on my social media. This past week i have made a conscious
effort to get my at home pamper on, and a couple of times  when my
youngest is in bed or my husband is looking after the children, i have locked
myself away in the bathroom for an hour and got some me time. I light my
Candles, and add my gorgeous, new Elemis
Life Elixirs
Fortitude Bath and Shower Elixir to the water.
These incredibly
aromatic, aromatherapy Elixirs come in a choice of ‘Emotional Scents’ to just
enrich your well being and relax or reawaken your state of mind depending on
the one you choose. The message behind fortitude is:

Elemis Life Elixir Fortitude Bath and Shower

 “Don’t underestimate
the power you hold within. Flow across the obstacles that come your way. Root yourself
in the earth and know that you can take whatever’s coming. Empower your spirit.
You have all the strength you need – now is the time to release it. Find your
inner resolve.
Ylang Ylang anchors you, while Cedarwood harmonises,
Geranium restores your centre and encourages confidence. Feel grounded,
determined and strong to the core.Feel grounded, determined and strong to the
core.”

I add three drops under running water, get in, apply a
face mask and breathe in the aromas. This just makes me Stop, Breathe and Tune
into me, it makes me realise that i can achieve my goals and stop being so hard
on myself. Containing 19 essential oils the aroma really uplifts me and makes
me feel that everything will be ok. The bottle is also incredibly beautiful and
luxurious and makes me feel special and as though it is something i deserve. (
which we all do!)

I have also taken steps to make my day to day life a
little more uplifting. When i am at home and i have a day of writing ahead of
me or a day of household chores or literally just want to uplift my mood i
light my candles. Currently i am enjoying the Elemis
Life Elixirs Candle in Clarity

Elemis Life Elixirs Candle in Clarity

“The day is yours. When life gets too loud, clear
your mind and invigorate your sense of self.
Energising Bitter Orange, refreshing Cardamom and warming
Ginger work together amidst a balancing blend of awakening essential oils to
sharpen your concentration. Breathe in the breeze of change.
Take on your day, or evening, with awareness and confidence”

Formulated with a blend of 8 essential oils this smells
incredible! It is fresh, subtle yet bright, and has that uplifting hit of fresh
ginger. Would also work incredibly well in the bathroom if you take a morning
soak and want to start your day feeling uplifted and ready to take on the
world. Stop.Breathe.Refocus.

I have to admit, just by making a few, easy changes,
i am already feeling more uplifted and energetic. I have also taken to drinking
more water during the day, and when i go to bed actually going to sleep instead
of scrolling through Social Media for hours, which is part and parcel of being
a beauty blogger but also a time when i need to switch off more than
ever.

Elemis Perfume Oil in Calm

Another new Elemis
product i do want to share with you that i have been using on the run is
the
Life Elixirs Perfume
Oil
. It is packaged absolutely beautifully and again available in your
choice of Elixir for your emotional needs. The one i am using and loving when
on the train, on the way to a meeting or just generally rushing around all over
the place is Calm. Formulated with a blend of 15 aromatherapy oils this
beautiful 8.5ml bottle has a roller ball on the end which allows you to quickly
and easily apply behind the ears or on the inner wrists and breathe in the
incredible aroma.

Elemis Perfume Oil in Calm

“When the pressure of life takes over, it’s
time to stop and take stock. Create an oasis of calm and some sanctuary for the
mind. Face your day at the speed you choose, not the speed the world expects.
Bring yourself back into the moment with this soothing and hypnotic blend of
aromatics.Rosewood helps to lift your spirits. Clary Sage encourages calm,
whilst Lavandin works to unwind and relax.Settle the mind. Let the quiet in.”
Stop. Breathe. Be Still.

I am also taking time to focus more on conversations with
people that i enjoy and spend my time wisely doing things that i enjoy and
not just doing things for the sake of doing them. I realised that i am
important, i matter and i need to look after myself more and take time for me.

How do you relax, focus and get Back To You? I would love

WOW ! This was a lovely read. Too often we leave it too late to do something for our soul and we just keep going on empty until our bodies rebel and we get sick. I sooooo want to try this whole range now having read your blog. We are lucky as women that a pamper session or soak in the bath can restore some balance (albeit temporary) but we definitely need to make a concsious effort to do so. I love a soak in all the classic Elemis products (Milk Bath, Frangipani, White Lotus and Lime and now I adore the newer Sea Lavender and Samphire) , a good magazine or some music and just time to breathe and clear my head. Now I need o save up for this new gorgeous sounding range. Hugs xxx Celia xxx
