Travel friendly SPF and a cheeky Aftersun product i’m loving…..

Well, in the famous words of Caroline Flack we are most definitely having a “Long, Hot, Summer” and that is great with me. However I am so shocked at how many people are walking around sunburnt, or “boasting” on Social Media about there burn lines.

Travel friendly SPF and a cheeky Aftersun product im loving.....

I am always writing about Sun Protection and SPF and people just really need to listen. There is no excuse for burning in the Sun. You can use a once a day protection in the morning before work, school or holiday. On those days where it may appear overcast at first or if you are shooting out really early on a 5am start, you can always pop sun protection in your handbag to apply if you get caught out. The Suns rays are so harmful, not only in a premature ageing way, but also skin cancer. It is so, so, so important to protect yourself.

Below are a couple of really lovely SPF’s that are bag friendly, giving you no reason not to be protected.

Radical Skin Perfecting Screen SPF 30

Radical skincare spf

I was first introduced to this product about five years ago, by the Radical sisters themselves after a conversation about skincare. This product is such a multi-purpose genius that it makes total sense to keep it in your handbag for moments when the sun makes a sudden experience. Obviously application in the morning is best, but you can top this up all day as needed as it does not clog the pores. Chemical free, this has a super silky texture and a slight tint whilst also containing crushed diamonds, which deflects the light and blurs imperfections. Perfect as a primer as it gives the skin the most beautifully smooth finish and mattes down for make up application.

  • Shield against sun and UV induced free radicals
  • 100% non chemical sunscreen
  • Luxurious texture that is ultra light, sheer with a matte finish. No white, greasy residue
  • Perfect for exercise, will not irritate eyes during perspiration
  • Perfect for sensitive skin prone to break outs as it does not clog pores

This leaves the skin looking so flawless, it is like a magic filter with the added benefit of SPF30 plus it comes in a very portable 40ml size!

SVR Crème SPF50+ Anti-Redness Soothing Very High Protection

SVR Crème SPF50+ Anti-Redness Soothing Very High Protection

SVR is a brand that I have recently featured HERE as I am really enjoying their Physiopure cleansing range. This Very High protection crème is aimed more so at anyone suffering from redness, sensitivity and even rosacea. Now as I do not suffer from Rosacea, I obviously couldn’t test against that but it is a very gentle product. It does not clog the pores, it smoothes on easily with a great slip factor, meaning there is no pulling or tugging and it doesn’t leave a white cast on the skin. It does feel a little tacky at first but this soon dissipates to leave the skin with a matte finish. This allows the skin to breathe and feel fresh and cool all day. This should be applied in the morning about 30 minutes before sun exposure to allow it to bond to the skin properly and can be applied under make up.

Ultrasun Face Fluid Tinted SPF50+

Ultrasun Face Fluid Tinted SPF50+

A new release from Ultrasun is this tinted face fluid.

This incredibly lightweight formula is designed to protect the skin from UV, atmospheric and domestics environmental aggressors such as pollution.

Ultrasun say “These aggressors include tiny particles called ‘PMs’, nitrogen dioxide(NO2) and chemicals such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Recent research* showed that age spots on cheeks increased by 25 percent with a relatively small increase in pollution levels – just 10mgs of nitrogen dioxide per cubic metre. Levels of pollution in large cities such as London regularly exceed 200mgs of NO2 per cubic metre.”

What I adore about this protect is that  being a fluid as opposed to a lotion, it dries quickly on the skin and makes a wonderful primer for make up. Offering that SPF50+ protection, this non greasy formula is free from nasties and perfume and is kind to sensitive skin. Perfect for all skin types including oily, it is a super fast application each morning and then you are done. The tint on my medium skin tone looks like a lovely bronze tan and is very natural and evens out my skin tone really well. It does not clog up the skin on my face and makes a great summer base instead of using a cc cream or foundation.

Laboratoires Filorga Uv-Bronze After sun 200ml

Filorga After Sun

Filorga is a specialised skincare brand that deals with skin ageing. I really wanted to include this product, as an After Sun, as I find it so incredibly beautiful, not just on my 43 year old skin, but I think it will work wonderfully on all skin ages. This is a very unique after sun in that it contains a blend of intensely nourishing oils Argan, Avocado, Apricot and Almond and Hyaluronic Acid. What this means is that after a day of sun exposure, with the sun drying out the skin, this product not only adds moisture and superb hydration, but it also prolongs the tan and has amazing anti-ageing ingredients which leave the skin looking and feeling, smooth soft and youthful. I absolutely love this product. It smells beautiful, a blend of tropical fruits, plus the Apricot and maybe a hint of coconut that really give it that tropical island scent. It looks stunning on tanned skin and would look sensational on darker skin-tones as it leaves a beautiful sheen of luminosity to the skin. This is suitable for both face and body and is my absolute summer must have! Winner Winner!

There is my round up of some handbag friendly SPF products and my must have After Sun. I really hope you enjoyed reading about these. Which SPF products do you swear by and which ones will you be taking on holiday (Home or Away) this year? I would love to know so do please leave me a comment below.

Its so dangerous, not only does it increase your chance of skin cancer but also skin damage and premature ageing. You really should try and remember to apply one everyday, especially as they are so affordable and come in many varying types x

I have darker skin so, in my experience, I've literally never burnt but, of course, sun can do extensive damage to the skin regardless so I always slap on an SPF before leaving the house! The last one sounds amazing – the ingredients like hyaluronic acid, Argan and Avocado oil are stunning for the skin! Will definitely be checking that out! Marina Rosie x

Amazing, yes, you do not need to burn to cause premature ageing or skin damage. You sound like you have a great spf routine x

It's kind of bizarre when I hear people boasting about their tan lines and sunburn! Their poor skin! They'll regret it in years to come.
