Lisa Eldrige X Marilyn Monroe Make Up Launch

As a Huge Marilyn Monroe fan, the launch of the Lisa Eldrige X Marilyn Monroe Make Up collection was always going to be mine.

If you have followed Lisa for any length of time you will know that she not only has a huge love for vintage make up but also Marilyn Monroe and does in fact own pieces of Marilyn’s Make up that she has purchased at various auctions over the years. With this in mind it was always going to be the most perfect collaboration created with the most meticulous research. Launched in collaboration with the Marilyn Monroe estate to celebrate 100 years since Marilyn was born – this is a real treat for Marilyn Monroe fans.

Before we talk about the colours i just want to talk about the beautiful images of Marilyn that have been used. Each box, packaging and included pamphlet has gorgeous photos of Marilyn that were taken by Sam Shaw in the Summer of 1957 whilst Marilyn was married to Arthur Miller. They had rented a house in Amaganset and Marilyn had a beach photo shoot and a countryside photoshoot and looked really relaxed. These beautiful “East Coast” relaxed photos adorn the packaging and really make the collection look so precious.

Now onto the products, Lisa has created a brand new formula for the skin, which is very exciting Marilyn always had a ethereal glow and would use Vaseline on the skin and Lisa has created a product to help us achieve that look.

Lisa has studied the Lipsticks that she owns which belonged to Marilyn and has created 3 new lipstick products. Some of Lisa’s existing products  have also  been wrapped in the Marilyn Packaging.

Elevated Glow Balm in the shade High Key Light

This product is available in two shades. Butterfly Light – for lighter skin tones wanting that champagne glow and High Key Light for more medium to deeper tones or those wanting a bronzed / warmer look. This is a beautiful formula that glides across the skin without feeling greasy, and is inspired by the Iconic Hollywood lighting that would accentuate the cheek bones on the face. The shade i have is very pretty, and adds a beautiful glow. Silicone free, this contains skincare and pigment and feels hydrating on the skin. Available HERE

Norma Jean Rouge Experience Lipstick – NEW Limited Edition

Inspired by a Marilyn lipstick that Lisa owns, this is a true Orange red. Named after Marilyn’s real birth name,  the formula of this is so buttery soft, almost balm like. It glides on easily is very comfortable to wear and looks lovely.  To create this colour Lisa actually used the exact pigments from Marilyn’s lipstick in this version. I am not a orange/ red wearer but how could i resist such a lipstick! This is bright, vibrant and fun – very Marilyn. This is also refillable. Available HERE

Amagansett Rouge Experience Lipstick – NEW Limited Edition

This is stunning and my favourite! This is actually a carnation pink which looks red on me and i love it!! Inspired by Amagansett in the Hamptons, a place where Marilyn and Arthur Miller Stayed, this colour is bold and confident and everything you would want it to be. The artwork on the box of this lipstick is beautiful, Marilyn looks so pretty, so relaxed and it just adds to the  experience of this collection. I love to line this with the Ribbon Liner, (which is part of Lisa’s existing collection) as i think this adds a beautiful definition. This lipstick does leave a slight stain behind which  adds to the staying power and is also because Lisa used two pigments that are the same as one of Marilyn’s original Lipsticks. Strawberry Blonde Velveteen Lipstick – NEW

This is stunning! This has a gorgeous “fluffy” velvet feel to it that lays down deep pigment, it is buildable and beautiful and can be worn on the lips and cheeks, The colour was inspired by a pomade that Marilyn used to wear and is a really pretty Vintage colour. Available HERE

I also purchased Enchantment Pencil Liner, Ribbon Liner and Dragon Liner. These are from Lisa’s existing make up range but do come in the Limited Edition Marilyn Packaging. I also purchased Dragon Gloss embrace.
