Bye Bye Winter Skin! Cleansers i am recommending for glowing, Spring Skin

Cleansing is such an important part of our daily skincare routine. If you get this step wrong your expensive serums and moisturisers cannot do their job correctly.

There is no point using any old cleanser that could, in fact, be stripping your skin of all its goodness and leaving it really dehydrated. You really need to choose the correct cleanser for your type of skin and skins concern. Once your skin is perfectly cleansed, it is then able to accept your serums, oils and moisturisers better and they can work exactly how they should.  A new “Trend” at the moment seems to be double cleansing, but to be honest this is something I have done for years! If I am wearing a full make up, I always cleanse first to remove all the make up and dirt and then I cleanse again to wipe away any make up residue but to also give my skin clarity, and the benefit of the ingredient’s in the cleanser I am using. I often use two cleansers when I am double cleansing and will usually end with a more luxurious, or pampering cleanser depending on what my skin needs at that moment in time. If you have never double cleansed then i really urge you to give it a go. I think you will be surprised at how clean and dewy your skin will become.

Below I have listed some cleansers that I am thoroughly enjoying using and would recommend  you to try. I have many cleansers within my blog that I love, but these are some i am flagging up for this year, to get rid of dull, dry Winter skin and get us glowing and ready for Spring.

ZO Skin Health Offects Hydrating Cleanser – This cleanser is absolutely beautiful and there was no way this was no going to be in  my list for 2016. You may have already tried it, I have been enjoying it since late last year and have been waiting for this post so that I can share it with you. Over 30 years ago Dr Zen Obagi created a range of skincare with the concept of” creating and maintaining healthy skin instead of only treating skin disease”. There are some outstanding products in this range and I would urge you to have a look. This Hydrating Clenaser is perfect if you have dry skin. It feels and looks beautiful on the skin and when you pump it out you can see a beautiful luminosity within the cream. It has quite a spongey texture thanks to its hard working ingrediants such as Panthenol which soothes and repairs the skin and allantoin which cleans away dead skin cells.

This is for you if you have a dry skin, that need hydration. Not only does it deepley remove dirt, grime and make up but also hydrates whilst cleansing and stimulates collagen within the skin. Apply to wet face and neck and try and spend a good minute massaging the cream in to really feel the benefits and lift that dirt and grime. Rinse with a cloth and you will see  how soft, supple and hydrated your skin looks. The scent is beautifully uplifting and although you can use it twice a day, I always make sure this is in my morning cleansing routine. Great for winter skin.  Mine is from a fabulous health and beauty clinic,  Omniya in Knightsbridge. If you are ever in the area please do pop in.

ZO Skin Health Offects Hydrating Cleanser

Bee Good Honey & Propolis 2-in-1 Cream Cleanser 100ml  £11.00 – I am thrilled to be able to include this company in this cleanser category, not only is it a brilliant cleanser but the ethos behind the brand is amazing. I will be going further in depth with this brand on a separate post, but for now here’s the short version. Created in Hampshire in 2008 by expert Bee keeper Simon and his wife Caroline, Bee Good has grown from a kitchen counter business to an award winning company. With lots of hard work, dedication and always the welfare of British bees at its core, Bee Good is a company that offers so much to skincare. This Multi award winning Cream Cleanser feels beautiful on the skin. Containing nourishing and skin nurturing ingredient’s such as Propolis which has antibacterial properties, British wild flower honey & nourishing British Crambe Oil, skin is left feeling clean, calm and soft. I love this cleanser if my skin is feeling sensitive, or I have some blemishes or it is just looking a bit dull. This cream is beautifully rich and has a gorgeous light, summer meadow scent. It can be used twice a day with the muslin cloth included in the box. I find it really lifts any grime and make up easily and quickly and really gives my skin a glow. I had a hormonal breakout on my chin recently and applied a thicker layer as a mask for a few minutes each day for 3 days and it really helped clear them up. I think this would be a great choice for any teenagers with breakouts too as it is very calming on the skin. You can purchase this cleanser from Bee Good Here. Please look out for my full review blog coming soon featuring lots more Bee Good products.

A’Kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser

*Elemis Nourishing Omega Rich Cleansing Oil 200ml £29.50 – This really does deserve a drum roll, a fanfare and a crown hahaha. Now, I think it is nothing new to regular readers of my blog that my favourite cleanser ever is Elemis pro collagen cleansing Balm, followed by my love of Miceller water and Micellar Oils. So as soon as I new Elemis were releasing this Nourishing Cleansing Oil, I was all over it. Brand spanking new from Elemis this Omega rich oil is blended with over 90% natural oils and has been formulated to ensure it maintains the skins delicate ph  4.5-5.5.
What you will find with this oil is that a little really does go a long way, I use about three drops for my face and neck and gently massage it into my skin. I do not take this over my eyes although some people do but I do take it quite close. After massaging in I then add a little water to my face and this turns it into a milky lather, I then gently rub that in and rinse away. Straight away my skin feels gorgeously hydrated, clean and smoothe. This is great for all skin types and has a beautiful, delicate Citrus smell. Really recommend this oil. Available from Elemis HERE

Elemis Nourishing Omega Rich Cleansing Oil

Judith Williams LifeLong Beauty Cleansing Balm 50ml £28.00 – Ooooooh you know I do love a cleansing Balm, they just have such a luxurious texture that feels absolutely beautiful as you gently rub it into your face. If you are a fan of Judith Williams and her LifeLong Beauty Range, then this is something for you. Suitable for older skin, or more delicate, sensitive, even thinning skin, this lightly scented Rose balm is a beautiful cleanser. You only need maybe a 20p sized amount of this balm, as you gently massage it into your skin you will see it turn to an almost serum type consistency! It can take away all types of make up including eye make up and it doesn’t tug or pull on the eyes. It is very gentle and yet so thorough. After massaging this in I always use the included bamboo cloth which really wipes of every single piece of dirt and make up. Skin is left so unbelieveably clean and soft after use. A little trick I do with this is apply a thicker layer as a mask over my face when I am in the bath, as I suffer from dry skin anyway I am always amazed at how my skin drinks this in. I then wipe away any residue. Due to the concentration of rose oil in this balm it can also be used on dry shins and elbows too, it really is a multi purpose hydration powerhouse. You can purchse this from Judith Williams Here

I double cleanse at night, it makes such a difference to my skin! I'm trying balms when I've used up my current cleanser, I think my maturing skin could do with a bit more nourishment x

Hi Sharon, I have just started this double cleanse last night. I was amazed to see how much dirt, makeup etc was left behind after the first cleanse. This is a whole new routine for me now. X

Thank you Sharon. I recently discovered Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm which I love. It is similar to Emma Hardie's Moringa Cleansing Balm which is also fantastic. I have always double cleansed and use 2 different products like you.
