When it comes to hair care I am one of THE most fussiest people out there! My hair is my crowning glory, my favourite feature and the part of me I get complimented on the most!
If you haven’t seen me in the flesh, by the way you are not missing much, you would not know about my hair. It seems to have a life all of its own haha! My hair is naturally blonde, yes NATURALLY blonde, super thick and incredibly long, down to my backside. The reason I am stressing the point that it is naturally blonde, is because I have such naturally dark eyebrows, that people find it hard to believe. I can honestly say that in all of my 43 years, I have never coloured my hair. Boring? Busy? Nervous? To be honest its a culmination of all three. I am always working and never have a spare 3/4 hours to sit in a colourists chair, plus I love my hair colour. It goes beautifully light golden blonde in the Summer and a more brown/ombre blonde in the winter.
For this reason I am quite fussy with the hair products I use, not that they are or need to be expensive. I just need them to give my hair a deep down clean that leaves it shiny, soft and manageable. Just before Christmas I was sent some lovely little products from Lee Stafford. They sounded wonderful, smelt amazing and had some great reviews.
Coco Loco is a beautiful range of products that are perfect for damaged hair. Now, as my hair is incredibly thick and also dry/dehydrated due to medication, it can snap and break, add to that my love of curling wands and I knew this was the perfect range for me. Containing Coconut Oil which is rich in Lauric acid, it penetrates the hair shaft and reduces protein loss whilst softening and hydrating the hair at the same time. This leaves the hair so incredibly shiny. I was sent both the shampoo and conditioner and can I just say, this is a Tropical Island in a bottle. If the scent of this range does not lift your spirits them nothing will. Full of Coconut Oil this range is a joy to use.
I was also sent the Sea Salt Mud Mask, which appealed to me as I often use a salt spray to add texture to my hair. Enriched with sea salt and nutritious seaweeds and algae, this is all about adding volume, not that I need it but the bigger the hair…… and is a great addition to your styling routine. I decided to use both these product together but there are lots of products within these ranges that go together.
I applied the Coco Loco Shampoo to wet hair and massaged it in creating a lovely lather, as usual I did two washes as, just like a double cleanse, the first wash takes out the dirt and grime and the second wash gets deep down and works on the hair and adds the shine.
Next I followed on with the Sea Salt Mud Mask, I added a generous dollop to my hair, massaged in and sat back and relaxed for ten minutes whilst it got to work. I then rinsed it out thoroughly and added the Coco Loco Conditioner, rubbing it into my hair and running it all the way up the length of my hair avoiding the roots. I left it on a couple of minutes then rinsed away.
This was the hair treatment of dreams.
When I blow dried my hair, the scent was incredible, just a light, uplifting fresh coconut scent and boy did my hair feel soft and shiny. Whilst it was still damp I added in some plaits and left them in for a couple of hours, I then dried my hair again through the plaits, using a cool heat and released them to reveal beautiful, soft, shiny mermaid hair.
I have to say, my hair looked, felt and smelt gorgeous and I had lots of lovely comments on it. I can highly recommend them the next time you are looking for something new to try. You can purchase Coco Loco HERE You can Purchase Sea Salt HERE
