Welcome to a brand new series for my blog for 2018. Each Sunday, I will share with you a beautiful selection of either ‘Spa at home’ brands and treatments, or actual visits and recommendations to spas around London and Essex. If like me, you take sanctuary in your bathroom on a Sunday evening to prepare yourself and your skin for the upcoming week ahead, I think you will enjoy finding out about some new spa products to try and actual Spas to visit. The first brand to feature in this series has made a huge impact on me and my skin and has a wonderful back story…welcome Temple Spa.
I first discovered Temple Spa last year, I was doing some skincare research for more mature skin and this was a brand that came up time and time again. Having had a little chat with the brand I just knew that so many of my readers would love to hear about it and also, perhaps, fall in love with it like me.
Temple Spa work by the mantra “Your body is a living Temple. Honour it, enjoy your life and live it to the full” I mean…wow, who wouldn’t agree with that. Doesn’t It just grab you and make you want to be a better person?
Created by Mark and Liz Warom over sixteen years ago, this award winning brand does not rest on it laurels. Inspired by the Mediterranean, with its beautiful landscape, healthy food and wonderful way of life, it was on a visit there that Temple Spa was born. With each and every product created by them, using a range of actives and botanicals (With the Mediterranean being their first port of call) this is a nature led, results driven brand. With a huge and varied range of products for face and body, there really is something for everyone.
The two products that I have tried and seen amazing results from are the In the Beginning Deep Cleansing Melt and the Repose Aromatherapy Resting Cream. Having taken a chance to trial these products over a five week period of illness towards the end of last year, I knew if they could perform well then, they could perform well always.
In The Beginning Deep Cleansing Melt –
This hand blended “Facial in a jar” really is just that. Like nothing I have tried before, and believe-you-me I am very loyal to my favourite balm cleanser, this had to seriously perform to impress me and boy did it do just that. With a “buttery-crystalline texture” this not only cleanses the skin deep down, but it also gently exfoliates the skin at the same time, every time you use it. Containing gentle beads, they exfoliate as you cleanse and then melt into the skin releasing a vitamin rich complex, deep into the skin. Packed full of key ingredients such as Vitamin E, Calendula fruit extract and Olive fruit extract, this is perfect for tissue regeneration, hydration and brightening. What surprised me the most about this cleansing balm was that, as grey and dull as my skin was, due to illness, it still managed to slough away dry skin and brighten it up making it look glowy and youthful. Now that my skin is back to “Normal” it still offers that brightening effect every single time I use it. If you have a dry, dehydrated, thirsty skin type that needs some gentle care and attention, I would recommend this product. It is great to use on thinning, delicate skin too as it is so gentle, however, it is spa scented with a blend or aromatics, so if you do not like that then leave this one alone.
Use a tiny 5 pence amount onto dry skin and massage upwards into the skin, when ready dampen a flannel and remove it completely. You will be left with beautifully soft, hydrated skin. Great as both a morning and evening cleanse.
Repose Aromatherapy Resting Cream –
This smells absolutely divine and is the perfect end to your night time routine. Containing a blend of hops valerian, chamomile, frankincense, lavender, patchouli, geranium, bitter orange and clary essential oils this night cream is cocooning, comforting and nurturing on skin that needs to rest and recharge. I am so in love with this product and what is does for my skin that not only do I apply it on my face when I need that extra bit of care, am unwell or incredibly tired, but I also take it down my neck and massage the residue into my shoulders to completely aid relaxation. For me, this is not a cream that I would use every night, although you absolutely can, but this is when I am snuggled on the sofa having a down day, this is when I am stressed and run down and need to unwind and relax, this is when my skin is all over the place and doesn’t know what it wants, this is when I am on a flight, travelling or just tightly wound. This is my SOS “Relax me now” cream and it does just that.
Lightweight in texture, Repose Aromatherapy Resting Cream, sinks in beautifully (or can be layered to create a mask) and leaves the skin feeling cashmere soft, well rested and fine lines and wrinkles just that little softer. Absolutely recommend.
I am overwhelmed by this brand and am really looking forward to trying more for my dehydrated skin. I am very much looking forward to trying their toners, oils and bath and body products and will keep you posted. You can purchase by clicking the pictures below.
