I love a new make up launch as much as the next person so when I was lucky enough to try out some new concealers recently I couldn’t wait to share my findings with you. Love them or hate them there is a concealer type and coverage for everyone. Whether you use it under your eyes, to cover blemishes or as a all over face base, it can be quite daunting to find the perfect one. Lets chat about these Five new concealer launches!
I, like so many others, have hardcore favourites. My favourite concealer of all time being the Bareminerals Bareskin concealer, however I adore Tarte Shape Tape for Full coverage and use it most days and love It Cosmetics Bye Bye undereye for brightening. These Five new concealer launches have really surprised me and gained me a couple of new favourites so I thought I would share them with you in-case you are still looking for your holy grail concealer.
Just a little tip though, if you are a more mature or dry skin, like me, no concealer is going to hide those tiny fine lines under the eyes. The eyes move around so much that it is really impossible to stop a concealer creasing. However, different formulas will crease more than others. Also, powdering under the eye area can sometimes cause more creasing than not and applying too much concealer can look cakey.
When applying concealer, little and often is the way to go and gently build up, regardless of Tik Tok trends and influencers. Its about finding what works for you and your skin type. The area under your eyes is so thin that a gentle tap of concealer with your warm ring finger or damp beauty sponge works wonders. Another tip, I apply a brightening eye cream and then tap in some concealer almost straight away or mix them both on the back of my hand. This gives coverage and a lovely light luminosity.
Here are Five new concealer launches I have been testing and trying that I thought you might like to hear about:
Lord & Berry Flawless Poured Concealer
Now, when this first arrived and I saw it was a cream concealer, I panicked a little. Past history has shown that my skin does not like a cream concealer as they can be quite thick. This is not the case at all with this concealer and I have become a little obsessed since the beginning of the year when I received it. This is such a hydrating concealer and super lightweight and I bloody love it. I wear the shade NUDE under my eyes and love to gently tap this in with my finger. It seamlessly melts into the skin and takes away any undereye darkness or redness whilst adding a hint of luminosity. If you want to cover blemishes with this its perfect because it is so hydrating it doesn’t turn flaky or cake around spots. . I don’t set mine with powder but if you have a more oily skin you absolutely can. I highly recommend this product for those of you that love a lightweight texture that gives a natural cover. Available from QVCUK HERE in 6 shades or more shades direct from Lord & Berry HERE using my code: Sharon20 for 20% discount.
This beautifully lightweight concealer is vegan friendly and absolutely gorgeous. If you love a liquid concealer you will adore this. Wonderfully pigmented this sits great under the eyes, on the eyelids as an eyeshadow base and I love it around the nose to cover my redness. With a rich infusion of fresh carrot cells and seaweed extract, this protects and hydrates the skin as well as adding a veil of coverage that is enough to cover blemishes, redness and under eye issues. It lasts all day, has a wonderful applicator that is super soft and is a great addition to any make up kit. Available HERE
Jane Iredale Enlighten Plus Under Eye Concealer
OG readers of my blog will know that I have been using and loving Jane Iredale for many, many years and this concealer is no exception. Forever a cruelty free brand the Jane Iredale Enlighten Concealer is wonderful for anyone that struggles with dark circles and puffiness. Lightweight, easy to blend and with SPF protection it has a Cooling, antimicrobial stainless steel applicator that feels great on a puffy undereye. Now, I do really enjoy this concealer as I always have puffy under eyes thanks to a kidney condition, but I have noticed that my undereye area needs to be very well moisturised before I apply this otherwise it tends to sit on the skin as opposed to melting in. When I’m super hydrated this is a wonderfully brightening concealer where a little goes a long way, that is full coverage with an applicator that feels great. Available HERE
A naturally-derived amino acid to improve the appearance of under-eye texture and smooth the appearance of fine lines.
Quinoa Seed Extract
A plant-sourced peptide to reduce the appearance of under-eye circles, brighten under-eye area and visibly reduce the appearance of under-eye puffiness.
Probiotic Ferment An antioxidant-rich probiotic moisturizer to slow the free radical production caused by sun exposure.
The Ordinary Colours Concealer
Another brand I am a huge fan of is The Ordinary and the affordability of this concealer is amazing! Available in an incredible 21 shades and for under a fiver you just can’t go wrong! Now, a quick note, these shades are lighter than their foundation shades HERE because usually undereye concealer is (obviously you can use these anywhere that needs concealing). This vegan formula is a little thick and is more of a cream than a liquid so I like to apply it to the back of my hand and gently massage it a little to make it more blendable. A little goes a long way and this tube will last a while. Suitable for all skin types this is a make up bag must have. Available HERE
NUDESTIX NUDEFIX Cream Concealer
If you have yet to try anything from the NUDESTIX brand I urge you too. I have been a fan since I first tried it at the end of 2019 and since then have built up quite a collection. Known and loved for their cream products their make up looks great on everyone. Having used this product since its launch last summer I have become a huge fan and have already finished my first tube! Super hydrating and creamy thanks to the Hyaluronic inclusion, this concealer contains a plethora of skin benefitting ingredients. This gives a very natural, lightweight coverage – which i like, and works beautiful on all skin types. I adore it under my eyes and to cover any redness around my nose. If you love that barely there type of concealing then this is for you. Available HERE
All photos of these Five new concealer launches were taken on the same day, so that the dark circles and blemishes were at the same stage and taken in natural daylight with no filter.
Have you spotted a new favourite from my list of Five new must have concealer launches? Have you tried any of these already? I would love to hear from you so do please leave me a comment below.
What a brilliant blog entry – I love reading about new products and brands I have yet to try and I always trust your open and honest descriptions. Meticulously done to get all these pictured in the same day. You are a pro Sharon xxx Lucy xxx
Hahahahahahahahha i’m a trooper xx
Concealer under my eyes gets so creased. I have a VERY expressive face when I talk (maybe I need to be less dramatic lol) – what’s your holy grail for no creasing xx
Hahahahahaha Fiona, i am so with you on this, but tbh i think anyone that has fine lines will eventually get some creasing. I fond useing a primer, then applying a concealer, ( i love Shape Tape for full coverage, Bareminerals for more natural or the Lord and Berry,) then setting with a spray rather than a powder adds some longevitiy.
