Whenever Rihanna releases a new product into her Fenty Beauty line the whole beauty community sits up and takes notice. With a gap in the market for a new under eye illuminator ( The Becca Under Eye illuminator is a cult classic for a reason but is soon to be gone) the launch of the Fenty Beauty Bright Fix was certainly on my radar.
Just in the same way that Charlotte Tilburys Flawless Filter got everyone wondering if it was a foundation, highlighter or primer? The Fenty Beauty Bright Fix has people asking if this is a concealer or colour corrector? In fact this is a beautifully lightweight product that can be used under your favourite concealer to brighten those dark circles, alone as part of a “no make up make up look” or you can choose from four of the 16 shades launched to be used as specific colour correctors.
When i purchased mine on the day it launched, the colours were selling out thick and fast so i went with the shade Seashell 03, if i am honest i wished i had gone a shade darker as you will see in the before and after photo. Now, before you wonder why “only” 16 shades have been created, considering how incredibly inclusive Fenty are with their shade ranges, these are very forgiving and colour correcting – meaning that shades span many skin tones.
Do i need the Fenty Beauty Bright Fix though? I hear you and this is for you if you struggle with those dark circles and are looking for a little something something to help disguise them. This undereye brightener hydrates, conceals and has a buildable coverage. It is sweat proof, doesn’t crease, blurs and brightens the under eye area and do you know what? My 46 year old dark circles are here for it. The consistency at first can feel a little thick and less is most definitely more. The tube has a cute little applicator at the end so squeeze gently and tap the product on with the tip of the applicator. I then like to use the warmth of my finger to tap the product in and blend it out.
After literally seconds, the product melts into the skin lightening and brightening the under eye area. Now, for me, this offers really good coverage, and my shade Seashell works well on my light to medium skin-tone when i don’t have a tan (which i currently do) , however when i do apply concealer on top, i leave the Fenty Beauty Bright Fix to set for a moment or too then apply my concealer with no problem.
Do you really need it though? Look, i never need an excuse to try a new beauty product, and i do have dark circles that i like to cover. What i will say is that if you have a dry or more wrinkled under eye area, make sure it is hydrated with your favourite eye cream before hand. I personally love the effect this gives. I am wearing it here with no foundation on just to show you how naturally it sits on the skin. With foundation it looks incredible! It is difficult to see the smoothness in the photo because i should have gone a shade deeper but i promise, this DOES NOT sit in my fine lines. This is a product i will definitely repurchase Available HERE
Have you tried Fenty Beauty Yet? I wrote about it years ago when it launched and you can read all about it HERE
