We all know the importance of adding a Retinol into our skincare regime. Not only does it increase cell turnover and stimulate Collagen and Elastin production, but it can even skin tone and plump fine lines and wrinkles. A powerhouse of an ingredient, the best form of Retinol is one that your skin can tolerate, meaning you will use it more, meaning you will see greater results.
NEW Retinol Recovery Serum from Clear Skin Days is not scary, requires no down time and can be used by all skin types (always patch test) It is a great entry level Retinol, but also one that you can use long term and still achieve great results from. By reducing the number of skincare ingredients used in a product and looking at their inclusion levels of ingredients, these products are efficacious but gentle thus not compromising the delicate skin barrier.
This silky, lightweight cooling Retinol Recovery Serum is the perfect overnight treatment for resurfacing and retexturizing the skin, bringing about a more even skin tone, brighter look and clarity to the skin. Containing 5% Retinol, 5% White Mulberry Extract and 5% Niacinamide, this serum can clear up blemishes and blackheads and prevent them from reforming, is full of Antioxidants which can help brighten the skin and fade discolouration and can strengthen the skins barrier which can lead to premature ageing. This really is a beautiful Retinol Serum to include into your regime after cleansing and toning and before moisturising. As a side note, if you are new to Retinol, I would suggest using just once per week, then increase to a couple of times per week depending on your skin’s tolerance. My skin loves it! Just look at the photo below at that glow. I have been using it as my only Retinol for weeks now and it is really bringing my glow back for Winter – whoop whoop!!
Another hero product of mine from Clear Skin Days that I wanted to give another mention too is the BHA PHA Pore Refining Serum. This product is absolutely epic and so unique! The BHA PHA Pore Refining Solution can be slotted into your regime morning or evening as and when you need it. Personally, I wouldn’t use both of these products together, I would use on alternative days, or, if tolerated, use the BHA in the morning and Retinol in the evening. When used in conjunction with each other as directed, you are on to a winner of a great skincare regime. Either way you must always, always wear SPF when using these products. The BHA PHA Pore Refining Solution is designed to exfoliate the skin at multiple levels, unclogging pores and overtime, reducing blackhead formation. Now this is potent, yet gentle and depending on your skin type and concern 3 x per week is a good indicator of use.
Concentrated plant extracts and actives work together in synergy to decongest and refine the skin without drying it out and leaving it feeling tight and sore, or looking red. Containing 4% Betaine Salicylate (BHA) this is anti-microbial, exfoliates, moisturises, improves skin tone, improves skins texture, unclogs pores and removes blackheads. It also contains 4% Gluconolactone (PHA) which, being a larger molecule, penetrates more slowly into the skin, providing a gentler exfoliation into the upper levels of the skin improving texture. Chamomile Extract is also included as a mild astringent which helps regenerate the skin and tighten pores as well as adding those soothing and calming properties.
This solution means business, it gets to work at removing blackheads, smoothing and improving the skins texture, which is important in an inflamed, scarred skin, brightens the skin, reduces redness which again, is usually present in a blemish prone skin and just gives a reduced appearance to all blemishes. Definitely one to keep in the bathroom cupboard, this can also be used as a mask in specific areas such as across the nose and chin.
