Right now sheet masks are huge! Everyone from Celebrities, Royalty and Reality stars are loving the benefits of using these beauty products. Obviously I had to check this new “craze” out to see if it was just that or if the benefits really are as fabulous as they seem. If its good enough for The Bieber……
Starskin Close Up Mask
The sheet mask I decided to try was the StarSkin Close Up Firming Bio Cellulose Second Skin Mask. Phew! Starskin’s Coconut Bio-Cellulose sheet masks are made from natural fibrous material which is able to bind to the skin, and were originally developed to be used in medical treatments such as on burns victims. They are absolutely saturated with premium serum type ingredients that are able to penetrate deeply into the skin and offer deep down hydration.
Within the sheet mask range from Starskin there are 6 kinds to choose from Red Carpet Ready (Hydrating), Close-Up (Firming), After Party (Brightening), Behind the scenes (Balancing), Leading Man (for men) and Eye Catcher (Smoothing). After having read the benefits of each mask HERE, I chose Close-Up as the key benefits were lifting, firming and waking up dull baggy, saggy skin. I was looking and feeling pretty awful as I was suffering from Pleurisy so thought I needed a bit of a lift.
Saturated with Serum
When you open the sachet, make sure you open it upwards as this product is brimming with a beautiful serum, I will warn you it is a little bit messy and a little bit fiddly but obviously you need to leave yourself plenty of time before you need to be somewhere, to do this. Now this may sound really daft, and I was unwell ( that’s my excuse and i’m sticking to it) but please read the back of the packet. I didn’t and ended up taking the mask out of the sachet and wondered why it looked and felt completely daft when I was trying to put it on? Well, as you may notice from the photo below….I didn’t actually separate the “second skin” from its backing paper!!! (rolls eyes).
This is the WRONG way to apply the mask!
Mistake rectified I peeled off the front and back backing paper and very easily and quickly smoothed the “skin” onto my face. After a few seconds of moving it around to the correct places and getting over how freezing cold it was, I settled down for 20 minutes and let the mask do its work. ( It is at this point you pray no one will knock on your door!).
After I removed the mask I squeezed it out a little and also used all of the remaining amount of serum left in the Sachet to spread all over my neck and décolleté. To be honest my skin did look lovely and plump and felt amazingly soft, but I cannot say that I noticed it looking any more firm or less slack. I will say these are fabulous for a pick me up and definitely great before a night out or an occasion as the skin does really get saturated with the powerful serum, but on me I didn’t get the firming I was looking for, but then is that expecting to much In 20minutes?
One Little tip whilst using these masks….don’t take yourself too seriously 😉
I would love to know if you have tried these before and how you got on with them? Do leave me a comment below, I love reading them and will reply to all! have a lovely day.
