Over the past few years, high street make up has continued to improve and grow. Getting many of their influeneces from the latest high end fashion trends, it’s great to be able to purchase something quickly, that looks great and doesn’t hurt the pocket.
Of course I am all about my high end make up and luxury foundations and eye shadow palettes, but, when I fancy a change, want something to match an outfit or just fancy doing some shopping, I find the high street is killing it right now.
GOSH SS17 Collection
GOSH Copenhagen were created in 1945 but it wasn’t until 1950 that beauty was introduced. Now, this innovative, forward thinking brand is available in over 75 countries. They are one of those brands that offer something new and exciting on a regular basis that really performs. Available in Superdrug this is a brand with something suitable for all ages, that have longevity, are comfortable on the skin and easy to use.
Their new Spring collection Is incredibly eye catching with bright, bold colours that will catch the eye of every makeup magpie, but if at first they seem a little too bright, maybe choose one key piece to add to your collection. Taking their inspiration from Urban Nature for this season – landscapes, architecture and social media, there is something that you will find will make a difference to your current make up collection. I don’t believe this is a brand for just the young teenagers, although it does have an edgy vibe. This is for anyone that loves make up. Lets get cracking.
GOSH Expression EyeShadow in 001 Back to Nature
Launched only last month (February) this is one of a collection of 3 quads inspired by the gritty surroundings of Copenhagen. With ultra fine pearls and deep colour pigmentation, all I know is that I love it. The shades in this quad are perfect for that natural, smokey look. Containing 3 matte shades in tones of warm chocolate and coffee and one pretty highlight shade this is lovely.
Swatches from Back to Nature Palette
They blend like a dream, feel soft and creamy on application and last until I take them off, I also love using them as transition shades. Paraben and perfume free and suitable for vegans and vegetarians these really are a winner. At £8.99 per quad I think these are fab.
GOSH Giant Pro Kajal
Wow! If you are a eyeliner fan then this is for you! I have never seen anything like this. Perfect for anyone that is confident in creating a wing this is a fun, dark black liner. Creamy in consistency thanks to the inclusion of Shea Butter, it doesn’t not drag on the eyes. Its a bit chunky to hold, I find, but when you get the hang of it, it is a great long lasting eyeliner.
GOSH Volume Serum Mascara
I am quite, no, I am very picky when it comes to mascara. I like what I like and that is it. However, I was very surprised with this one. Infused with Vitamins and Minerals including a dandelion leaf extract, this serum like mascara is incredibly lightweight and offers volume. It didn’t clump on application and really gave me a lovely, silky black coating.
GOSH Volume Serum Mascara
It has two different sides, the large bristles add volume and the smaller bristles are great for lengthening and combing through. It lasted really well without causing panda eyes. Not gonna lie though, I did stab myself in the eye twice whilst getting used to the wand. Not sure that i would repurchase for that reason. Also suitable for anyone that wears lash extensions.
LumiDrops in shade 010 Coral Blush –
GOSH Lumi Drops in new shade 010 Coral Blush
Lumidrops were launched in 2016 with three shades and now for this year they have added two new colours. I have the shade Coral Blush which at first looks quite orange, but you need the tiniest drop and it blends out to a perfect coral shade. These drops are super versatile and fantastic for anyone with dry skin like me that wants to look glowy and fresh without using powder. I apply one tiny drop to the back of my hand and then dap onto the apples of my cheeks using my fingers. They are easily buildable for a deeper colour, contain beautiful luminous pigments and add a lovely shimmery glow to the skin. I also love these on the eyes. A lovely fresh summer look. Suitable for all skin tones.
Gosh Contour Stick
This very clever crayon does everything you need and very well actually. If you struggle with the whole process of contouring then this couldn’t be easier. This creamy crayon type product, glides easily on the skin into the hollows of the cheeks and blends like a dream to create a light natural contour. Not only a contour product it can also be used to conceal imperfections and the lighter shade makes a great creamy highlighter. Full of cleansing actives, these also help with the improvement of the skin if used on blemishes. A lovely, lightweight, non sticky formula that feels really hydrating on the skin. These are very creamy so maybe an oiler skin type may not get such a long lasting finish. Comes in a range of shades 001 Highlight Vanilla (vegan) 002 Highlight Golden (vegan) 003 Light, 004 Medium, 005 Dark, 006 Very Dark.
GOSH Liquid Matte Lips
Not going to lie, these are the products that really excite me! I do love a liquid lip and these do not disappoint. Not only because they are £8.99 each….yep….£8.99! But also because they are super pigmented and last all day long. There are currently 8 shades ranging from Nudes through to browns and reds. Infused with dandelion which is rich in vitamins and minerals, these matte lips are not at all drying. I love the slim doe foot applicator as well as it allows for a really precision application.
Gosh Matte Liquid Lips Swatches
When I first apply these on me, they do feel sticky, i’m not going to lie, but after a few minutes this abates and they dry down really nice and Matte but still feel comfortable and hydrating. I think the shades really look true to the colour in the tube and they seriously last without leaving any behind on your glass, cup etc. I am super impressed with these.
My thoughts on this brand –
42 and Fabulous in GOSH
Although aimed at a younger audience, at the age of 42 this is certainly a brand I buy, wear and enjoy. There is most definitely a product for everyone. I am super excited about future launches as I am loving these new launches for Spring 2017. If you are on a budget definitely check this brand out. Currently, at the time of writing, this collection is on a buy one get one half price from Superdrug which is fantastic. My favourite products that I have written about are most definitely the Eyeshadow quad and the Matte Liquid Lips.
I would love to know if you have tried this brand and what you think of it, please leave me a comment below.
