There is nothing i love more than a sunny day! It just makes everything ok with the world. People are happier, no one is rushing about and life just feels good. Here is a quick summer look – featuring Jane Iredale – that i love to use when i am going out in the Summer and want a light, fresh, but perfectly put together make up look.
When i think of Summer skin, it has to be clean, fresh and dewy looking and most definitely not caked. It needs to look like i have put it on in ten minutes, even if it has taken thirty. The first thing i start with is clean, fresh skin and then i apply a great SPF. Once my skincare has settled in, i am ready to apply my base make up.
Starting with the Golden Shimmer face and body lotion from Jane Iredale, i apply a light amount of this over my face, neck and down to my shoulders and décolleté. Containing botanical extracts it feels cool, hydrates the skin and adds a gorgeous, golden glow to the skin, which i really enjoy.
I then apply a light dusting of the translucent dry sunscreen over any areas that are too glowy or that need to be set. This comes in handbag friendly packaging for any on the go touch ups.
Once my base is set, and usually, looking this fresh skinned, i don’t need to add any concealer, i then like to start my eyes. I lay down the Smooth Affair Eyeshadow Primer in shade Naked, as it covers any redness on my eyes and makes a lovely neutral looking background for any shadows that i want to lay down.
It has a fab cream to powder formula that makes the eyelids look smooth and locks down any colour for hours and hours. I really recommend this product for anyone looking for a great eye shadow primer. It comes in a variety of shades which you can find HERE
Today i have chosen to line my top lids with the Mystikol Powdered eyeliner in shade Emerald. If you are someone that is perhaps scared of a liquid liner, or finds they look too harsh on the skin, then i always recommend a powder.
This is great. It comes with a handy brush in the lid that easily creates a perfectly smooth looking line on the upper, or lower lashes. It is a powder/cream formula that smooth’s easily onto the skin and lasts all day with beautifully pigmented colours. Plus in bright sunshine, it doesn’t run down the face if your eyes get watery, which i love. I then apply my mascara of choice and i no longer currently have a Jane Iredale mascara, so have used another brand.
Brows have a quick brush through with the Eyebrow Pencil in shade blonde and they are good to go.
I do always like to add the lightest contour to my face as it is very round, so i have been using the recently released GreatShape Contour Kit in Cool.
It is also available in Warm, but for day time i like the cool palette. Containing three pressed powder matte shades in blush, highlight and contour shades, it just lifts the skin and adds that little bit of “perfection”. I use the super soft, cruelty free, synthetic contour brush which is perfect for carving out the cheek bones and laying down the contour. It really blends well to create a natural look.
Summer, wouldn’t be Summer without a hit of highlight on the face and i have been loving the Limited Edition Dream Highlighter which i am sure you can still purchase HERE.
It contains the most beautiful, shimmering highlight shades that suit all skin tones. With shades of Opalescent Pearl, Pale Peachy Pink and Shimmering gold you really will be spoilt for choice. Today i have gone for Shimmering Gold and applied it with the Blending Brush.
Finally its time to choose a lip colour and believe you me this is probably always the hardest choice for me as i am so indecisive. Jane Iredale have a huge range of PureMoist lipsticks which i absolutely adore as they come in an array of beautiful colours. I find these balm like lipsticks pigmented, hydrating and super long lasting.
My shade of choice today is the Tricia which is a nude shade with a hint of latte about it, then finally i add my absolute favourite gloss from Jane Iredale the Pink Lady Puregloss Lip Gloss.
This is beautiful! It smells almost effervescent and ‘sherberty’ and just lifts the lipstick i have laid down by adding a touch of girly pink to it. Its non sticky and lasts really well.
There you have my get ready with me for a Summers day out using a full face of Jane Iredale Mineral products.
