The beauty world is a funny ole place at times. Way back in March I started talking about my Trinny London make up stack and kinda got a luke warm reception. Then last week I mentioned it again on my Instagram and my inbox was full of people asking me to talk more about it and “Share my Stack”. Trinny London by Trinny Woodall is one of those make up ranges that we all wish we had created, I mean how many times have you blended and created your own products to get that perfect colour? Then decanted them into portable pots? I know i have and do all the time. Yet someone had to do it and Trinny has, very well indeed.
If, like me, you are in your forties or beyond, you will remember Trinny from her “no punches pulled” series What Not to Wear…. the programme we would all watch through our fingers as Trinny and Susannah seemingly ripped into some unsuspecting woman, that was already feeling less than fantastic about herself. Yet whilst they pointed out her flaws they majestically managed to turn it all around and transform the dowdy women next door, into some glamour puss that was full of all the confidence in the world.
Fast forward to last week when I met Trinny in the flesh and what I can tell you is this is a Woman that, yes means business in a “retail” sense of the word but is incredibly hardworking, kind, considerable and really, truly trying to deliver THE most perfect make up range for all. She doesn’t put anyone down, is self deprecating and bloody hardworking but more about that later.
Trinny London is “ a portable, versatile range of makeup, with colours to suit every woman. ❤ After 3 years of experimenting, planning, developing formulas, and state-of-the-art technology to pinpoint which makeup truly suits you, welcome to the ultimate easy, modern, do-it-everywhere, premium makeup brand”
Trinny London make up is that easy to use cream formula that blends beautifully into all skin types and tones from 18 to 80 and beyond. This is such a winning combination because the special formulations that she uses and worked on for at least 3 years before launch, bring a wonderfully youthful glow and bounce to the skin. Younger skins can wear it as it does not mask their beauty and us more mature gals love it because it adds that look of glowing, hydrated, healthy skin. In all my years of posting selfies on my blog and Instagram (7+) I don’t think I have ever been as complimented on my make up as I am when i’m wearing anything from Trinny London.
These small stackable pots allow you to create the perfect range of make up that you can travel anywhere with and use fingers to apply ( though I still prefer brushes) in no time at all. The website has a fool-proof match2me colour system which gives you advice on the perfect colour palette for everything from foundation to eye shadow, blush, contour, lipstick and more. TL also offer a make up consultation at their new home just off the Kings Road Chelsea with the cost of the service redeemable against product purchased on the day!
Having visited their new offices on Jubilee Place last week, for a “office warming” party, I can tell you the lighting is just incredible, the make up consultation room is beautiful and the range of products on offer is insanely good. It was here that I met Trinny herself looking absolutely beautiful in her trademark TL yellow.
Trinny was rushing around moving furniture, lights, arranging make up whilst wearing a beautiful gown, she was proper hands on even though she had a great team around here. She took photos, applied product on guests and spoke to pretty much everyone there and there was loads of us! It was a wonderful evening and so great to see Trinny in action. Whilst I didn’t leave the event with any extra product I certainly fell in love with so much more. Below I am going to share my current stack with you and why I love the products I am currently using.
This has fast become my favourite product, especially during this glorious weather we are having. Possibly one of the best skin perfectors I have ever used, and I don’t say that lightly, BFF really is your best friend. Not only does it have an SPF30 which is incredibly important, but it is super lightweight, applies just like a moisturiser and contains very clever coloured microspheres that adapt to your skin tone giving a flawless, natural yet luminous glow. Containing light reflecting extract of Porcelain Flower it also tones down redness, diminishes the look of dark circles and makes the skin look healthy. It is expensive at £35 for a 30ml pump tube….BUT, you only need a tiny bit and it makes a huge difference to the appearance of the skin. Worn alone or under foundation it is my current obsession and i’m also nearly out so need to buy a new one. Available HERE
TL believe that foundation should conceal your imperfections and not cover your complexion and this works really well. Yes I am a full coverage gal, but it’s Summer and i’m not here for that. Just A touch offers that light coverage which, when applied just to those areas you need it, for me that is over any pigmentation marks mainly in the centre of my face, it looks lovely and natural and adds a great radiance. Works beautifully over BFF Cream above giving a wonderful glow to the skin. Wearing it all in the photos shown. Available HERE
These sheer shadow pots are incredibly versatile. This 4g pot will last forever (well at least 9 months according to TL) as a little goes a long way.. a phrase i am using a lot with this brand. The colours are very buildable, work well alone or as i like to use them under shadows. Available in 20 different colours i believe, i have the shade Wisdom which is a lovely warm neutral putty shade. It has a slight bronze undertone on me which really makes my blue/green eyes shine bright. Great alone with mascara for a subtle look, but i love using it as a primer almost for darker shadows as it has great longevity. Available HERE : VEGAN
You know how much I adore a highlighter and I truly believe more mature women should wear them as it really adds that little extra something something to the skin. However I appreaciate that not everyone wants to wear something blinding. The Right Light is wonderful at adding a natural glow in all the right places without looking greasy or shiny. I have the shade Starlight which is barely visible but when just a little is added to the inner corner of the eyes, the bridge of the nose, cupids bow and collar bones, it adds a light glow and illuminating touch. Great for making the skin look fresh and youthful. Available HERE : VEGAN
This is so, so pretty and sells out all the time. This versatile lip and cheek shade adds that perfect flush of colour with long lasting pigments that i love. The shade Lady J is a perfect cross between a pink and a coral and looks so flattering on all. I love to dab a healthy amount on the apples of my cheeks dabbing outwards and backwards and then add a small amount to my lips. It really is a classic shade. Available HERE
To be honest I don’t reach for this product very often as it feels more like a blam than anything else and drags just a little when i apply it to my lips. It tastes great though hahaha! Enriched with Vitamin E it does feel very soothing and hydrating on the lips and adds a hint of colour. Described as a lip glow/ lip gloss… i find it more of a balm as it doesnt add any kind of gloss to my lips at all. It is not sticky and is handy to throw into tour handbag to hydrate the lips but personally a much more affordable balm would do the same. I would like to try some of the other shades though to see the difference. Available HERE : VEGAN
I am really looking forward to trying more from Trinny London especially the contour, bronzer and lip colours. I also know they have a new brow product launching soon which is very exciting so I will keep you posted. I would love to see your stack and hear which products you are loving from the Trinny London range so do let me know below!
