Who doesn’t love a brand collaboration, especially when it is with one of your favourite You Tubers right? But what if you do not watch You Tube and just want to know if the make up is any good? Well yes, I watch YouTube and yes I have a YouTube channel( search Back To You Beauty) but even I was new to some of Pixi’s latest collaborators. However, what I am more interested in is what these palette have to offer that no others do.
Recently I have been playing with four palettes from Pixi in collaboration with four You Tube creators and I am here to share the lowdown with you. I adore the formulas and products that Pixi create and have done for a long time so I can only imagine how nerve wracking it must be to bring in someone to collaborate with you on shades and collections.
Pixi + Dulce Candy –
Café Con Dulce Palette :
“Dulce is a published author, wife and mother who shares beauty, fashion and lifestyle tutorials. Café con Dulce is a popular series on her channel about her life that inspired her to create this palette”
Containing nine multi use shades this palette consist of powder to cream blush, face glow and shadows that add illumination and dimension to the face. Upon first glance these colours all appear quite shimmery which scared me a little as with my more mature eyelids, shimmer shades are not ones I usually gravitate towards unless I am placing them in the centre of my eyelid. When I played with these buttery soft formulas, I noticed the colours were super pigmented and had such longevity that I would use them more as highlighters and blush shades than lid colours. If you love a really shimmery eye look then this is your perfect palette. For me I would only reach for highlight shades so possibly not one I would use that much, but still incredibly pretty.
Sugar & Spice Lip Palette –
Sadly my palette was a little bit bashed up with some of the colours falling out but that certainly didn’t detract from the fact that this is a gorgeous palette and very handy to have. Containing nine lip shades of varying tones and with super soft consistency, these are super comfortable to wear.
Containing antioxidant and minerals, the colours are soft and smooth and apply like a balm to the skin or cheek. They have a non sticky texture and a lovely sheer, yet buildable colour payoff. A beautiful collection to add to your kit.
Pixi + Weylie Hoang Dimensional Eye Creator Kit
“Known for her girl talk and lifestyle videos, Weylie loves to do tutorials about creating dimensional eyes and is dedicated to cruelty free products”
As soon as I saw this palette I knew it was right up my street. This travel friendly collection contains 3 mattes and 3 shimmer shades plus it comes with a black kohl pencil. The shadows are blendable and buildable, so although they don’t give you that blast of colour straight away, you can build it to suit you, which I think is great. There is no fall out with theses shadows and they apply satin smooth and last all day. The dual ended liner included is perfect for defining the eyes or adding a wing to effortlessly take you from day to night. Looking forward to using this collection more in the Autumn months too.
Pixi + Chloe Morello Romantic Radiance
“Chloe has had a love affair with make up and beauty since childhood, growing up by the beaches of Australia. She loves a natural glowing look and shows her tips on how to achieve it on Social Media.”
Possibly my favourite kit out of all of those listed, this palette contains 3 blush shades, 6 eye shades and 3 liner/brow shades. It is super pretty and perfect for taking on holiday with you as it contains everything you need. The split pans work really well containing multiple shades and it is easy to place your shadow brush in each individual shade without creating a mess in the other colour. The shadow lays down a beautifully rich pigment without any fallout and leaves my eyelids looking much smoother which I love. The blush shades are wonderful and would work well on many skin tones as well as making exceptionally pretty eye shadows. I love this palette.
Pixi + Chloe Morello Lip Icing –
This liquid lip has a hit of sparkling rose gold to it which would work well as a lip topper. Although you can wear it over a lipstick to add a pop of colour, I think it works best alone. I love a liquid lip and although this formula is perfectly pretty and non drying thanks to the Rose Hip and Marula Oils, it’s not a colour I would often reach for. If you love the look of a shimmery glittery lip, then I think you would like this, its just not for me.
Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pens –
Alongside the palettes I have also been testing out some of the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pens and these are a perfect way to add a hit of colour to the eyes or jazz up a eye look. I adore bright coloured eye liners, especially vibrant blues and purple so I knew I would love these.
These award winning waterproof gel pencils are so easy to apply.
They can be used on the lid to create a stunning looking coloured wing or in the inner rim to add a pop of colour. At just £6 each these are so worth it, lay down a lot of colour and last all day. Love these, but just a side note, you don’t get much playtime, as they set quite quickly.
Large Lash Mascara –
This super jet black mascara has one of the best wands I have tried. I love a fat wand and believe me this is fat. It literally hugs every, single lash and coats it in silky black mascara that is budge proof and smudge proof. With added Panthenol, Vitamin E and Bamboo extract, it nourishes the lashes and does not leave them dry and flaky. A real nice mascara
Have you tried any make up from Pixi before? What do you think of the items listed above? I would love to know so please leave me a comment below.
