If you have read my previous post talking all about Mature skin HERE (the meaning of it, if you have it and which products to use) you may find yourself  looking for a place to start. Well have no fear for I have put together a concise list of NEW cleansers that are perfect for all skin types but ESPECIALLY Mature Skin. Basically, if you are not cleansing your skin properly, no other products will work efficiently so.. you know what to do! There should also be something here to suits all budgets – with not a wet wipe in sight, and I will link to where and how to purchase the products – so let us dive in.

Mature Skin Cleansers

New and Exclusive Global Launch Elemis Pro-Collagen Neroli Cleansing Balm 200ml

Elemis Pro-Collagen Neroli Cleansing Balm

Launching exclusively on QVCUK HERE as a Beauty Pick of the Month for June (Supersize and free P&P) is the brand new Pro-Collagen Neroli Cleansing Balm and I am super excited to share it with you! This Zesty, uplifting new sister to the Original Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm HERE has all those amazing skincare benefits of the original but with the added benefits of Luxurious Neroli Oil, Orange Wax and extracts of Fig and Lemon Verbena Olea. Designed in a beautiful Limited Edition Jar this is one hell of a treatment for the skin.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Neroli Cleansing Balm

Firstly, just like the Rose Cleansing Balm HERE, the packaging of Neroli Cleansing Balm is beautiful. Next up the fragrance! Wow! Wow! Wow! When I lift the lid I get a beautiful burst of herbiness then a hit of subtle citrus which literally makes my mouth water. The Neroli Oil is from the blossom of the Bitter Orange tree and really has great skincare benefits such as being able to heal and hydrate damaged skin, plus its Antifungal and Antibacterial properties make it wonderful to use on a skin that is prone to breakouts and blemishes whether hormonal or otherwise.

Elemis Neroli Pro collagen swatch

Add to that the powers of the Sea in the form of Padina Pavonica, that brown algae that is rich in fatty acids and what you have here is a powerful yet gentle cleansing balm, that efficiently takes away all traces of SPF and make up, whilst leaving the skin feeling deeply cleansed, soft, supple, hydrated and with a healthy glow. As a side note, this is also perfect to slather on as a mask and sit back for 10 minutes whilst it deeply hydrates the skin. Absolutely stunning and a real Summer must have cleanser! I am completely and utterly obsessed and hope they expand this range.

Who is it for: Perfect for all skin types, though sensitives should patch test first. Perfect for mature skin looking for hydration and a glow

How much: Supersize 200g is £49.47

Murad Prebiotic 4-in-1 Multicleanser

Murad Prebiotic Multicleanser

This brand new launch from Murad is the most beautiful cleanser for anyone looking to balance the skins Microbiome. You know how much I adore Murad and have done for years, you can read about some of my favourite products HERE and HERE. This gel to oil cleanser works incredibly well at removing all long wear make up, SPF and works well at balancing an oily skin. Free from all nasties, and cruelty free this offers a wonderfully deep cleanse, that you can also take over and around the eyes without any problem.

Murad Prebiotic cleansing gel swatch

The power of a Prebiotic Skincare system is incredible and this range really achieves great results in cleaning the skin at every level, whilst balancing and maintaining the skins ph perfectly. Whilst this does offer a lovely level of hydration at the time of washing, my skin, which is dehydrated, can sometimes feel a tad dry after use, so for me this is a first cleanse, then I would go in with my nourishing Balm as a second, more luxurious cleanse. After use, I have to say my skin feels and looks incredibly clean and soft and it is the perfect cleanser to take into the shower. Great for gym bunnies as it really works at a deeper level to remove sweat and oil too.

Who is it for: All skin types but especially those with a more oily skin

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

Dermalogica cleansing gel

Love Dermalogica!!! The reason i am so happy is because i have redicovered this brand after a 14 year break and i couldn’t be happier! This iconic cleanser is still as lovely to use as i remember. It’s fresh, it deep cleanses the skin so gently but leaves the skin feeling super hydrated and not stripped. This Vegan friendly, naturally foaming cleanser offers such a gentle clean which is perfect to use everyday, twice a day. Containing Balm Mint and Lavender it also works well at calming and soothing a more stressed skin, a tired or flushed skin and leaves the face feeling clean and refreshed. A lovely morning cleanse.

Who is it for : All skin types, but great for Mature skin that needs a gentle touch

How much: 250ml £33.00

La Roche-Posay Effaclar For Oily Sensitive Skin

La Roche Posay Effaclar

Lots of products created for Mature skin can sometimes be too hydrating or rich and whilst this product is not Mature Skin specific, Effaclar by La Roche-Posay is perfect for a Mature, yet oily prone skin. The good news is that Mature skin types that have an oilier skin tend to age better (every cloud) but you still need to keep the oil under control. This product works wonders, as does their whole range, at working with oily and sensitive skins. Enriched with La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water and dermatologically tested this is a super affordable cleanser that works wonders on skin that is prone to oil, blackheads and blemishes.

Effaclar swatch

It has a light, creamy foam that is not stripping but cleanses deep down. I wouldn’t use this over my eyes although it is suitable for sensitive skin. When using on a mature skin to address breakouts and oil, it leaves the skin feeling refreshed and balanced and still hydrated.

Who is it for: For oily sensitive skin including mature skin with breakouts and blemishes

Ark Skincare Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser

Ark Skincare cleansing gel

Ark Skincare is a recent find of mine and one i am enjoying exploring more. This award winning, cruelty free brand is making waves in the beauty industry with their Bioactive Natural Ingredients, their ethos and the belief that you can have beautiful looking skin at every age. With products for all age specifics, i am enjoying trialling some from the 30’s and 40’s range. Free from all nasties and alcohol this brand primarily treats the age of the skin, but also helps you choose your product by concern too. With a Spa like qualty to all their products they really make for a luxurious, daily pleasure that ensures peace of mind and balance to the skin.

Ark Skincare Swatch

Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser contains Moringa Oil which is rich in Vitamin A and C and gently removes make-up and grime whilst ensuring skin retains essential moisture. With Kiwi and Passion Fruit lipids which are packed with Omega 3 fatty acids to boost skin’s moisture levels. Blue Lotus, the ‘sacred flower of anti-ageing’ is a powerful antioxidant which helps skin firmness and elasticity. This is a beautiful cleanser. It removes make up and excess sebum, making it a lovely first cleanse, plus helps with any sensitivity or redness in the skin. The gel texture melts quickly into the skin making it easy to work in. It does have a natural scent… which…if i’m honest, is not my favourite, it smells slightly medicinal, but for as long as it’s on my face I am not worried. Personally i prefer something a bit more nourishing as i am in my almost mid 40’s but it works wonderfully.

Who is it for: Anyone in their 30’s and 40’s with redness, fine lines and wrinkles

How much : 200ml £25.00

Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleansing Balm

JS Nourishing Cleanser

… exactly what it says! It really is a beautifully luxurious, nourishing cleansing balm that is an absolute treat for the skin. My mature skin loves it because it has a wonderful slip factor, meaning I can easily massage it over my skin without pulling or tugging the delicate skin. “Suitable for all skin types, this cleanser is a combination of balancing, elastin and collagen promoting Organic Jojoba Oil, with beeswax and 9 ‘skin loving’ essential oils”

Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser

It smells divine, in a spa like way, which I love, thanks to the inclusion of essential oils such as Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Lavender and Sweet Orange, and melts into the skin penetrating deep down to give a thorough and effective cleanse, which my dehydrated skin needs as it can draw impurities deep down.

Murad Prebiotic cleansing gel swatch

Rich in essential fatty acids, this cleanser can also be used as an over night treat to restore the skins barrier function and regenerate cells. I love this as my evening second cleanse so that my skin can really enjoy those extra moments of massage though, of course, this also removes all traces of make up, SPF, dirt and grime so is a perfect first cleanse too!

Who is it for: All skin types but perfect for a mature skin that needs extra love, a gentle hand, repairing and balancing

How Much: 50ml £33.00

NEW Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel

Pixi Glow Tonic Gel Cleanser

You know how obsessed I am with Pixi, HERE and HERE,  their Skincare and Make up is just absolutely divine and I reach for their skincare products in some capacity Every.Single Day. So it was no surprise that I was going to include a product from one of my favourite brands. Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel is a must have cleanser for Mature skin types or those seeing the first signs of ageing. What I love about this cleanser is that it exfoliates as it cleanses without you having to perform that extra step, plus as it is a chemical effoliation using an Acid, you don’t feel any harsh grains on the skin. If you find a nourishing balm cleanser too rich for you and you don’t like a foaming cleanser, then a gel cleanser such as this is perfect. It is light on the skin, quick to use and gives wonderfully immediate results.

Pixi Glow tonic cleansing gel swatch

This hydrating cleansing gel uses a unique blend of ‘Moisclean’ which contains Glycolic Acid, Horse Chestnut Extract, Aloe Vera and Ginseng to exfoliate, resurface, hydrate and soothe the skin all in one wash. From the first use the skin is left feeling smooth and looking brighter. I absolutely adore this cleanser and have been using it since I received it a few months ago. It does remove impurities well, but cannot be taken over the eyes so I love to use this as a morning cleanse (applying SPF after) as it gives my skin a lovely freshness and smooth look which makes my make up sit better. If you adore Glow Tonic as I do, you will love this!

Who is it for: Great for Mature skin or anyone seeing dullness and texture

How much: 135ml £18.00

Emma Hardie Moringa Light Cleansing Balm

Emma Hardie Moringa light Cleansing Gel

Oh this is delicious hahaha, the scent literally makes my mouth water! Now, if like me, you don’t get on with the Moringa Balm….I know! I know! I’m a balm addict.. but just found the Moringa Balm a little too heavy, then this is here to save the day! I literally felt so bad that I wasn’t enjoying the Moringa Balm as I enjoy so many other Emma Hardie Products HERE and HERE and I really wanted to be part of the club. Well now I can be and I am thrilled. This Gel formula feels amazing on the skin. It is cooling, soothing and nourishing all at the same time, without feeling heavy. I love this as a shower cleanser, as it’s quick and light, comes in a luxurious looking pump tube, which keeps the product airtight and fresh and quickly cleans my skin whilst giving it a layer of protection against pollutants I will face throughout the day.

Moringa Light Cleansing Balm also works well as a refresher cleanse, so if I am going out in the evening I can cleanse quickly with this before applying my make up as it wakes my skin up again, removes impurities and nourishes it with Moringa and Sweet Almond Oil whilst the essential fatty acids, Vitamins and peptides boost my skin and give it a wonderful, healthy glow and radiance. A lovely refreshing cleanser that works wonderfully on hot days too.

Who is it for: All skin types, great for purifying and balancing the skin

New The Body Shop Carrot Wash

Carrot Wash The Body Shop

I just had to include this fabulous find in this post. I was instore the other day and the story just got me, plus! Who doesn’t love The Body Shop? I think for many of us The Body shop was our first foray into skincare, I know for me being a young maybe 11 year old, shopping instore for their bath pearls and Fuzzy Peach Perfume used to bring me so much joy. I have written about The Body Shop HERE and HERE and as the first real pioneers of cruelty free products, I really wish more and more people would support them as their range of Skincare and make up is truly wonderful.

The Body Shop Carrot Wash is a fabulously orange cleansing gel that is enriched with Wonky Carrots that cannot be sold to the food industry – what better way to use them. It has a lovely fresh smell of Carrot but with a slighty earthy undertone, creates a lovely soft lather that I think would be great for the men to shave in and really does a fab job of cleaning everything off the skin. It removes my SPF, my long wear foundation and lipstick and leaves my skin feeling fresh. I personally don’t take it over my eyes as I prefer to use a sensitive eye make up remover, so have not tested it for that. I think if you had a oily t zone this would work great at balancing it out. If we were going away for the weekend as a family I would happily take this cleanser as a one-size-fits-all for the varying ages and stages of skin in our household, but as my skin is dehydrated I couldn’t use this everyday long term. I really wanted to buy it and included it as the price is outstanding and a little really does go a long way!

Who is it for: All skin types but maybe not dehydrated

How much: 100ml £8.50

Where can i buy it: The Body Shop HERE

Phew! There is my roundup of new products that I have been testing on my Mature skin. My skin is dehydrated, Combination with fine lines and wrinkles but as you will note from all of the above, I have included cleansers for all types of skin including Sensitive and Oily prone. I have also included a range of everything from Balms, to Foaming Cleansers to Gels and Lotions and tried to find something to suit all budgets.

I have really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and testing new textures and formulations, especially with Summer ahead it is great to have something light and quick for a morning cleanse and something maybe more balmy and moisturising for an evening or second cleanse. I have found some new favourites such as the Elemis Pro-Collagen Neroli Cleansing Balm, and Emma Hardie Moringa Light Cleansing Gel and rediscovered some old favourites.. Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel.

I really hope you have enjoyed this feature and i have much more to come as i will be testing more products for Mature Skin such as Serums, Moisturisers, Oils, exfoliators, SPF and Masks so do look out for those.

I would love it if you would leave me a message below of any of the above products you are looking forward to trying or anything else you would like me to feature on my blog.

Hi Sharon, that was a great read with some newbies I hadn’t heard of, thank you. For me now I have to go in & look at the ingredients because I am highly intolerant to wheat & gluten. JS was amazingly transparent & very happy to reply to a message I sent her regarding this however there are companies who claim to be gluten free & are not & there are those that just don’t respond to emails. I can’t be the only one who strives to look after their skin but has to avoid wheat/gluten? I’m sure you’re a busy lady but I wonder if you could help out by writing a piece on this?

      Hi Katy,
Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me about this. It is most definitely something I will look into more and try and help where I can. I’d love to write a piece on this but will need to educate myself more. Hopefully the brands I have mentioned above are transparent on their websites with ingredients, but if ever I can help you by emailing/contacting the company on your behalf, I will xx
