Doll 10, the completely cruelty free make up brand that aims to get you “Dolled up in ten minutes or less” are launching a beautiful new make-up collection. The Doll 10 6 Piece HydraBalm Make-Up Collection contains 5 make-up items and a double ended synthetic brush, that is all you need to create the perfect canvas for the rest of your look.
Included in this collection are the following items:
HydraBalm Serum Infused Foundation (mine is shade Light/Medium)
This unique foundation is your perfect blend of 50% serum and 50% colour that offers a full coverage look. The swirl in the foundation is your unique blend of 10 ingredient serum that protect, perfect and hydrate the skin, whilst the pigment lays down the colour. Inlcuding ingredients such as Hyaluronic, Peptides and Retinol, this FOUNDATION (crazy right) has the power to also brighten and tighten the skin as you use it. Perfect for all skin types, but working exceptionally well on a more mature/dry skin type, this foundation can be used instead of your morning skincare and primer. If you have to wear make up all day long, it might as well be doing you some good right? Personally I apply this on top of my skincare, but apply it when my skincare has dried down as I love the layering effect of using both. However, it is recommended to be used in place of your serum, moisturiser and primer, so play around with it and see how your skin feels.
The product is foil sealed to protect the skincare inside, so that it is nice and fresh when you use it, and comes inside a fab compact that has a inner lid, to cover the foundation, as well as an outer lid, a mirror and a sponge applicator. Now Doris does suggest applying it with the brush included in the collection, but I love to use this with my beauty blender. Immediately this feels soft and cooling on the skin, literally like applying moisturiser. It is a full coverage so try and choose your shade wisely. The finish is dewy with a pretty glow, that illuminates the skin and makes it look super hydrated. Wonderful.
When I asked Doris Dalton for Shade tips here is what she said –
“Shade choices for the foundations are pretty easy.. The Fair shade is for ultra fair gals.. You always burn in the sun.. Think Nicole Kidman or Snow White .. It has a bit of a Pink undertone to it.. Light is the shade that I wear.. It’s a bit warmer and not as Pink. A blend between Pink and Yellow. It’s for girls that burn in the sun but then turn to tan. Medium is warmer then the Light definitely the most popular shade and… has yellow under tones. Tan is the richest colour for Olive skin tone complexions. The foundation and Concealer match each other.. Don’t forget that in the Summer your foundation tends to be a bit warmer then in the Autumn or Winter months. Even though you use SPF, you still get sun. I typically don’t change my foundation colour. If I notice that it appears a bit light because my skin has warmed in the summer, I usually sweep a small bit of bronzer on my face.. Hope that helps..”
HydraGel Cream Balm Blush in shade 16 again
Containing Hydra Gel technology, this beautifully creamy blush is perfect for anyone that does not like the feel of a powder on the skin. This is a light weight blush that will not disturb your make up as you tap it on or look cakey. It gives a natural flush of colour that is easily buildable depending on the look you want to create. As someone with dry skin, I will always choose a liquid foundation and blush over anything else, it looks better on my skin than a powder and I prefer its natural look.
Easy to apply, I just use my beauty blender (or fingers) and gently tap it where I want it on my cheeks. No shimmer, no sparkle, not sticky, just a beautiful, silky, healthy deep pink that is very flattering. I even use these as a lip tint sometimes when I want a more natural make up look. Do not be afraid of the colour in the pan as they are more natural on the skin than they appear. If you are a darker skin tone, just have a play with it and build it up. Comes in a lovely, portable, mini compact with mirror included which I adore.
H2Glo Highlighter in Champagne
This is my favourite highlighter ever! Meaning, the one I wear every time, even if I pop a brighter highlighter on top, this will always be my base. Using their famous gel technology, this is an incredibly hydrating, lightweight highlight that looks beautiful and sophisticated on all skin types and tones. I adore this as it doesn’t cling to fine lines and wrinkles and looks very pretty on. It adds a lovely sheen to the skin, that picks up the high points and instantly brightens the skin and makes it look more alive. Great when applied to the brow bone and the cupids bow, it also smells lovely of vanilla. A must have essential in my make up bag.
This unique wand contains three brow products in a ‘Universal shade’. One end opens to revel a angled pencil that is incredibly soft to use and applies a naturally pretty brow even when you have none at all, or they have gone grey.
The middle of the wand twists to reveal a soft powder, which you can sweep quickly over the brows if you are in a rush and the second end has a mini spoolie which contains your brow gel, which adds a hint of colour and volume making the lashes look fuller, more defined and shaped.
I find this wand genius, as someone that doesn’t like to ‘do my brows’ this 3-in-1 product is incredibly quick and easy to use and is a very natural looking colour. A little tip with the mascara end, i prefer to apply it to the middle of my brow and spread out, as sometimes you can get a lot of product on the brush.
Hydragel Lipstick in shade Knockout
Famous for their lipsticks, Doll 10 make creamy, easy to wear colours that suit all skin tones and are super comfortable to wear. Knockout is a lovely nude plum shade that looks really flattering on the lips. Easy to pop in your pocket for reapplication too. A very unique shade which matches the blush perfectly.
The collection also comes with a dual end synthetic brush – the No.7 which is great for foundation and concealer application.
My thoughts on this collection
Firstly, I am not sure how this collection will come gift boxed to you, sorry. Mine came in a plain pink cardboard box.
This collection is a great for something with a more mature skin type or someone that really likes a dewy finish, full coverage foundation. It is a great entry point collection for new Doll 10 users and also a great top up collection for existing Doll 10 Fans. I adore everything in this collection, as usual, but I would now like to see the collections in a different format, maybe with an eye shadow palette etc? However the inclusion of foundation does work well as the value of these collections is exceptional.
This collection is exclusive to QVCUK as a Todays Special Value on 3rd March 2019. The collection is available for one day only whilst stocks last at a cost of £37.98. When it becomes available you can purchase it HERE
