Testing the perfect face mists for Mature skin….the 2019 edit

Features *Some PR Products

For me a face mist is an absolute Beauty Essential all year round. Whether it is to hydrate and cool the skin in the Summer, Refresh make up on the go or offer thirsty skin a drink during those cold, windy Winter months.

Back to you Beauty

Every year I feature some of my favourite Mists and this years line up is proving to be one of the best so far. I am writing these with Mature skin in mind and if you are not sure if you have a mature skin – it’ not always age related – then head HERE and have a quick read.

Mature Skin Series Must have hydrating Mists

I use a face mist everyday, a couple of times for different reasons. Sometimes as soon as I wake up – to wake up! Other times I spritz one over a face mask before I remove it, sometimes i use one on the train when I am squashed in like a sardine and always to set my make up.

Today I am featuring something for everyone and on all budgets that can be used at home, at work or on your travels.

* Emma Hardie Plump & Glow Hydrating Facial Mist 90ml

If you are looking for a face mist that has mattifying properties then i would really recommend this one. Higher up in price point, this really is a wonderfully refreshing and hydrating Facial Mist. Containing Aloe Vera, Wild Watermint, Velvet Flower and Hyaluronic this is wonderful at adding a bounce to the skin and helping plump out any fine lines and wrinkles. It also adds a layer of protection against pollution whilst giving the skin an almost soft focus look. This one does offer a fine mist when sprayed from a distance, just make sure you give it a good shake before use to wake up the precious ingredients. Available HERE

* Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 Multi-mist 100ml

Murad Prebiotic multimist

I absolutely adore this mist, and the Prebiotic range which i have featured HERE. Perfect for all skin types but more so for those that have a sensitive or reactive skin. I love to use this when my redness flares up or when my skin is hormonal as it really balances the skins microbiome. Containing hydrating sugars and yeast Peptides this is able to transform a dull, tired skin to a more fresh looking one, even out the skins tone, hydrate and prep and prime the skin for make up. Most importantly it is really good for the skin and doesn’t strip it of any of its essential bacteria. A great one to apply before make up as a priming barrier, but i also love it after using my Acids and Glycolic to just add a layer of love and softness back to my skin. This can fire out quite a powerful mist so give it a shake and spray from a distance. Don’t forget if ordering direct from the Murad website HERE use the code Sharon 10 for 10% off any Murad product.

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist 30ml

Queen of Hungary Mist Omorovicza

One of my absolute favourite mists is the iconic Queen of Hungry Mist from Omorovicza. This award winning facial mist is pure luxury and in my opinion so worth treating yourself (which i did and have many times). Inspired by the Queen of Hungary Water (which was the worlds first recorded perfume) this has so many wonderful uses and skincare benefits. I am quite generous with this mist, which considering the price i should be a little more careful, but i love this before applying a face mask, then i give the mask another spritz before removing. This really has wonderful skin purifying properties and smells divine. Containing Orange Blossom, Rose and Sage Waters this makes a wonderful toner after cleansing and is so incredibly light and fine on the skin. Free from alcohol and skin nasties this is a mist that will look after the skin all year round. My top luxury beauty buy. Available HERE

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist 100ml

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Facial Mist

A real must have for the handbag this is the perfect Mist when travelling for refreshing the skin. Full of Superfruits which are rich in Anti-Oxidants and Vitamins this mist is super, super fine! If you really don’t like the feel of water on the face then this is one for you. Great for flight bags this really does add a burst of hydration to the skin without leaving it feeling wet or sticky. It adds  beautiful glow when applied to make up and just feels great! One i always repurchase. Available HERE

Elemis Superfood Kefir-Tea Mist 100ml

elemis kefir tea mist

Earlier this year Elemis launched a beautifully uplifting Mist that not only refreshes and brightens the skin, but also balances, tones and sets make up! What’s not to love about that? Infused with Anti-Oxidants, rich Superfoods, Rooibos Tea extract , vegan Kefir ferment, Organic Aloe Vera, Coconut Water, and natural Prebiotic, this really feeds the skin whilst working at performing all those things listed above. Why do I love it? Because it is the super fast way to do what  my skin needs! After cleansing I can spritz this over my face to tone and balance it. I can set my make up with it, knowing those ingredients are still getting to work and any time i am feeling sleepy I can add a spritz to refresh and awaken me. A perfect multi-purpose product! Available HERE

*La Roche-posay Toleriane Ultra 8 Hydrating Concentrate 100ml

La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Hydrating Face Mist

If you suffer from sensitive, reactive or even sore skin, this is the perfect mist for you. It can be used as a post shave mist on the face and body by men and women, to really cool and sooth the area, and works wonderfully at cooling a parched skin. Trials have shown that after 30minutes of using this mist, the skin is 68% more hydrated and stays that way for up to 24 hours so if dehydration, or dry skin is your bug bear, this is wonderful at helping. Free from nasties this can be used for refreshing the skin, on flights, on trains or for setting make up. However you need it this beautifully light-weight mist is perfect. Great to take on holiday for refreshing hot skin throughout the day. A range i am turning to more and more to help with my maturing , sensitive skin. Highly recommended. Available HERE

The Body Shop Rose Dewy Glow Face Mist 60ml

The Body Shop Rose Dewy Glow Face Mist

This is great If you are on a budget. It has a really lovely, fresh English Rose scent and does fire a mighty spray. It is super cooling on the skin and hydrates immediatly. A little on the tacky side at first but it does dry down, this is perfect as a make up primer as foundation really clings to it. It also makes a great Dupe for the Pixi Rose Mist Make Up setting spray. It adds a real glow and shimmer to the skin which i love. With a blend of Raspberry Essence, Cherry water from France and Community Trade British Rose Essence it feels lovely. Leaves skin feeling hydrated and instantly refreshed after a spritz. This is also 100% Vegan. Available HERE

Ark Skincare SkinEssential Hydrating Beauty Mist 150ml

Ark skinEssential Hydrating Mist

If you watch my Instastories Often, you will have seen me using this loads lately. I just love the scent of refreshing Wild Mint and the way my skin feels suddenly cool and calm. This spray is perfect for all ages and stages of skin but I have included it in my mature skin round-up as I think that a hot, flushed skin, dehydrated skin or someone with those fine lines and wrinkles can really benefit from the hydrating properites it offers. The cooling sensation of that Wild Mint and the beautiful ingredients included make this a joy to use. Goji and Blue Lotus (which is in a lot of much higher price point skincare) bring lots of anti-oxidant rich, brightening properties as well as detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties which I think work wonderfully on menopausal skin. I am loving this brand so much and I know you will too. Available HERE

I hope this has helped you realise why a face mist really is a great addition to your beauty, make up and skincare regime and these are some of my favourites. If I have missed one that you love I would love to hear from you!

I have used the Elizabeth Arden and the Elemis mists, both were really good. Now I am wondering why I haven’t bought anymore. Might have to put that right when I go to the airport next week for my holiday to Tenerife 😁
