Jo Malone launch the Lavender Story

If you know me, you know how much I love a Jo Malone Fragrance and have been wearing the brand for over 20 years! Whenever there is a new launch i am there in a hot minute so i was super excited to hear that Jo Malone had launched the Lavender Story.

Now, usually Lavender would not be a fragrance that would jump out at me unless I was getting ready to go to sleep and spray a sleep spray onto my bed linen, however – this is very different! Putting their unique “Jo Malone” twist on fragrances, there is something to suit everyone with each of the three limited edition fragrances being very different.

Using the quintessentially British English lavender, Jo Malone combined the expert noses of three perfumers to create 3 beautiful fragrances, each capturing something very different. For me, the moment I smelt Lavender and Birch it was my favourite of the trio. However, before I go into detail about the one I purchased, I will give you a quick insight into the others.

Lavender & Corriander

“Aromatic English lavender nestled in a thriving and fragrant herb garden, bolstered by the striking note of coriander. Earthy sage deepens the lavender’s timeless scent, while creamy Tonka bean adds an unexpected touch of warmth and sensual balance.”

For me personally, I found this scent very masculine, it is a spicy warm fragrance with top notes of Coriander, middle notes of Lavender and bottom notes of Sage. If you love those warm herb like scents  you will adore this. Available HERE

Wisteria & lavender

“Cascading wisteria frames a characterful house, creating a nostalgic purple picture. This soft floral presentation of English lavender is entwined with sweet wisteria and powdery heliotrope. A picturesque trio, cocooned in clean and delicate white musk.”

Most definitely my least favourite of the trio, this is very Musky in my opinion. With top notes of English Lavender, heart notes of Wisteria and bottom notes of White Musk, this would be perfect for someone who likes a traditional Musk fragrance. I found this to be quite heady and very…..oh ok, I found this to be very Vintage!! Sorry!!Available HERE

Jo Malone Lavender 7 Silver Birch

Silver Birch & Lavender

“Morning light across a rambling garden, framed by silver birch trees. The air fresh with a crisp coolness that cuts through the iconic scent of English lavender. Refreshed with a squeeze of grapefruit, grounded by a woody, charismatic base of silver birch and a compelling note of roasted oak.”

This spoke to me the most and although it wasn’t a fragrance that I was jumping over to have, it is still very nice and I have worn it since I bought it. Seeing the top notes I now realise why I love it so much. It is fresh, fruity, floral and bright, a light fragrance that smells clean and works well during the day. With top notes of Grapefruit to give it that zesty edge, middle notes of Lavender and Base notes of warming Silver Birch, this layers beautifully with OUD. Available HERE

Maybe even book in for a Scent experience.  I always pop to Fenwick in Bond Street so do say hello to Amy or Orlaigh if you head in there and tell them I sent you! I have had many of the Jo Malone fragrances and find it difficult to choose. Currently my favourite is Poppy and Barley with Basil and Neroli a close second.
Personally not overly keen on the new lavender collection toon, I would choose other Jo Malone fragrances over those.
